Well, I think that opening pretty much confirms that they'll be going down the "Hoen" route, where Ash just has only ONE of the new region's starter pokemon, while his companions have the remaining two.

I just hope that they give ash a strong pokemon lineup this season. I hope that Ash catches the Lion pokemon as his fire type, but something tells me that they'll just have the dual flying-fire pokemon serve as both.

It sucks that the only season that Ash had a POWERFUL lineup of pokemon was during the latter parts of the Unova league.

And I wish they would have let Ash bring in his Charizard with him alongside Pikachu since that's the only pokemon that he has currently I think that can use mega evolution.

So...this happened. Kalos in Unova! AND next week it's a SUPER POKEMON WEEKEND! A new movie featuring Mewtwo vs. Genesect AND the 1-hour preview of the Pokémon X&Y series. Cool!

So today was an epic Pokémon weekend! A new episode, a new movie AND a preview of Pokémon X/Y!

Let me tell you, I'm excited about this, Ash seems better, the new characters seem fun (and different from the games) and Serena apparently knows Ash!

Ok so did anyone watch the Genesect/Mewtwo movie today? I've heard of retconning history but this was a little ridiculous. Why is Mewtwo a girl? And how does she not know Ash?

My only thought was that somehow they made a second Mewtwo and this one was a girl and thus didn't know Ash. But why go through all that trouble? Why not just bring back the original? The movies have their own continuity that has been proven before, thus Mewtwo has met Ash. So why the new one?

Questions my friends....so many questions...

I don't know! I don't know!.....but I WANT to know and that's important. I think this is going to be the best group since Hoenn, I really liked May and Max and this new trio seems to be a good fit for Ash.

Serena (who again is TOTALLY different from her game counterpart) will be the wild card here. I'm sure she met Ash when they were young kids before Ash went off on his journey (plenty of empty history to think this) and will be inspired to be a trainer because of him.

Could she be a love interest? I don't know, if they didn't do it with Misty or May (who liked Ash in one way or another) I'm not sure they'll do it with Serena, that and the question of longevity comes to mind. But it would be interesting if they did!

If his first battle (Pikachu vs. Bunnelby) was any indication he will be. It got very creative even when his opponent got just as creative. It was a great battle.

Yeah, I have to admit guys, I was really impressed with what we got in those first two episodes for the Kalos region.

Ash's intelligence wasn't lowered this time around in order to make one of his new traveling companions look smart and none of them came off as annoying either.

I think I remember seeing something from one of the promotional pictures that indicates that even the little girl will have a pokemon with her as well, another electric mouse like pokemon from the Kalos region, which will make it different from when they had Max on the show.

I'm actually glad that they established that Serena and Ash have some kind of history together. It's somewhat of a rare thing for any type of timeline regarding Ash's background and history to be addressed in the anime, so it's a welcome change.

Also, did anyone else catch that little quote from Ash on how he mentioned that he really wanted to win the Pokemon League this time around in the Kalos region? I hope it's a hint that he may just do so (finally) in this region.

I also really hope that they give Ash a pokemon that can mega evolve and not just give it to someone else only.

At the moment, Ash only has Charizard that can mega evolve. He has others, but they have to evolve to their final forms before they can get there (Bulbasaur and Gible).

Yeah I'm very excited about this. Kalos seems to be a very fun region for Ash and friends to have fun in.

I did catch that line about actually winning the Pokémon League this time, very funny.

Glad you mentioned Charizard cause that's important to remember that he has him AND that he was in the Unova episodes to refresh people's memories about him. Coincidence?

But aside from that what Kalos Pokémon Mega Evolve?

I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise this, but the actual Pokemon on Wobuffet is the tail and that's controlling the dummy?! Wow.

That's the feeling that goes around, but if that's the case how does Wobuffet talk?

I think that the black tail actually uses its psychic powers to animate and make the dummy talk. Weird theory, I know.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Ash has Herracross which can also mega evolve as well.

I kind of wish that they didn’t make the bird/flying type of Kalos in being both a flying and fire type since that most likely means that Ash won’t get the Lion pokemon for his fire type. I wonder if he’ll get the grass goat pokemon as well and I’m kind of hoping that he gets the fighting panda one.

And I really hope that they avoid doing too many filler episodes where it’s about some dumb plot that has nothing to do really with the main theme of the season. And please, let go of the whole attitude of starting nearly every episode with the gang deciding that they want to take a break and have a picnic or them already doing so.

And I hope that they bring in Team Flare’s boss and AZ into the main story soon and not just wait until Ash is already done competing in the league like they did for Plasma.

I didn't know Heracross could Mega Evolve until today, definite possibility.

I guess it is a staple that Ash gets the bird Pokémon of the region. Sad cause I like Pyroar a lot.

Filler episodes happen, it's Pokémon, it's how it is.

But I will agree that I hope they develop Team Flare better than the games did. Lots of opportunities with more time now available.

So in the new episode, Ash gets another new pokemon and Serena is determined to meet Ash.

It seems that Pokemon is going back to it's cartoony dumb fun (and that's a good thing).

As for the past seasons I watched, kinda felt like a captain planet version of pokemon. Which as pretty boring. Didn't help that Calen made a lot of ****** jokes.
