I doubt there's anything to this. Nolan's been quite adamant that he won't use the character in the next film, and I doubt that they even have enough unused footage of the Joker to put anything of substance in there. The only scene with him that I know about that didn't make it into the film was one that showed him leaving the party in TDK (we got to see a picture from it on Halloween 2007), and it would have been a few seconds long at most.

I believe, as I voted, it depends on the execution. It could go either way, incredibly cheesy or a nice nod to Ledger. As Bat-Mite said, I doubt it will happen, though.

All depends on the execution of it. I'm all for a nice nod to The Joker in the movie. Verbally, or if done right, visually.

I really don't think there's any truth to that rumor...And as far as Joker goes, Nolan was quick to shut down any talk of Joker being in the third. I wouldn't mind a mentioning of sorts, though.

Plenty of writing and consideration has gone on since Nolan made the Ledger Joker statement. It could happen. And if this is truly Nolans last outing...well...no Batman trilogy would be complete without his defining villan in some capacity.

Not against it in principle, but the rumour as it currently stands is definitely BS. The website that initially reported it doesn't and wouldn't have a clue what's going on.

If they can stick Olivier's CG'd up corpse into two movies, I highly doubt they would have an issue with this.

A month ago, I would've said absolutely do it, and I'd like it to happen, but if it doesn't, I won't be heartbroken.

I'd be for a re-casting if the story calls for an appearance by the Joker.

But I don't like the idea of a Ledger cameo for the sake of a Ledger cameo.

Luckily, I think this rumor is complete BS.

Maybe we will see Arkham and get a glimpse of its most feared resident... who knows? If it's an homenage and it makes sense, why not?

Im all for it but the execution is important. If they would show him just sitting in his Arkham cell while someone's passing then it wouldve been awesome imo

I assume it will just be some footage of Ledger in Joker garb that they didn't use, and it will be digitally inserted somewhere as a background thing or a quick cameo. There have been many Batman stories where we just got a quick shot of Joker in Arkham, as a throwaway gag or something.

I would love for Nolan to do that, unfortunatley though i highly doubt it happens.

I'd love to see him in a bit cameo if it flows naturally . I know it's going to leave me wanting more though .

Nolan's already said Joker won't be in this movie.

The end.

EDIT: The more I thought of it...

I don't know how much truth is in this rumor.

He could very well have just lied to keep the surprise.

But then again I can't ever remember him doing that, but just giving some kind of non answer like "you'll just have to wait and see the movie."

He might have changed his mind too.

Whatever the case, I look forward to finding out.

I can't see them doing this but I did have the idea of using that high pitched shriek of a note that they used in TDK at times in TDKR just to show that even tho he's locked up his influence on Gotham still haunts Batman.

It's a sensitive subject for Nolan but enough time might of went by for him to be open to it. It's more of a tribute than a cheap gimmick to draw people in. It's unlikely this will happen but i wouldn't want to rule it entirely out.

I voted good idea. If Nolan were to do it, I don't even question his execution--complete trust.

Agreed; it would be hard to watch knowing he wouldn't really be there doing more. I'm curious what deleted scenes they might have in mind if that's the case.

I like the idea personally, and as said above, I trust Nolan to do things right if he decided to do it.

The only unused footage that I can even think of is:
- getting into a car and leaving after tossing Maggie out da window and
- riding in a bus after the hospital explodes

Neither of which would work at all in an entirely new context.

SO I CALL BULLSH-
