Johnny Depp for Joker... can he do an American Accent? hope so he'd be great...
usually don't like recasts, but with good make up, and the essence of the character kept, it could be nearly unnoticeable
The Joker is too much of a badass NOT to show up in part 3. He was the architect of number 2 and as it was STATED VERY OBVIOUSLY. Joker and the Batman complete each other. Both are outcasts, both are psychotic (1 more than the other), and both fight for their ideals. I REALLY enjoyed that aspect of the movie, they need each other and the day they don't is the day they stop making batman.
The joker NEEDS to be recasted. The same as Heath? Of course not. Heath was a scary/nightmare/clown. His time in arkham could make him a more refined silly and equally intelligent clown that we all know and love. Batman grows up, he progresses his character so why shouldn't the Joker's character get a "new look?" It would differentiate both Jokers and allow yet another interpretation of him continue in the universe.
And by grown up I mean shorter, cleaner hair, and nicer suits.

Well since TDK was Harvey's story then that means Joker had not had his arc or story told yet....So if they make a Batman 4 he should have his story told their then...Recast and have Johnny Deep play Joker....Joker is morethen a one-dimensional character so he changes all the time.....Joker can make a cameo appearance in B3 like have him be shown in court without make up and be taking to Arkyum Asylum....Also they can have oneof the doctors their talk to him in an interview.
They are doomed to meet again, but not neccessarily in the next movieI wouldn't say the Joker accomplished all of his goals. The Joker's goals are ever changing depending on his mood. He will never be done trying to bring chaos to the world. Besides he said himself to Batman that they are doomed to meet again and again.
Okay, Im not trying to pick a fight, but explain to me, how can Two-Face be in Arkham? How does that works out? Batman took the blame for Two-Face's murders in order to preserve the false image of the good and heroic Harvey Dent. How could that work if that same guy has become a murderous and bloodthirsty vigilante that is apprehended in a public institution like Arkham Asylum? The only way that the plan of Batman and Gordon could work is if Two-Face is dead. Two-Face who is alive pretty much makes useless the whole idea of Batman taking the blame for his crimes. As for Two Face, I have said this again and again in other treads like this one, Two Face is alive. Yes we were told Harvey Dent is dead and that would be true. The good man that was Harvey Dent was killed when he was set on fire, and the Joker pushed him the rest of the way over the edge into madness. I still say Two Face is alive and well and is in Arkham. I see Nolan going with a story based some-what on Dark Victory next, in which a killer comes to Gotham City that everyone starts thinking is Two Face and he will have to come out of hiding to prove it wasn't him. Maybe do it Hannibal Lector style and have Batman talking to him in Arkham.
You boviously cant see the difference between great imitation and great acting.http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJokerBlogs
I came across this on youtube. I thought the guy playing the joker did a good job and I think it shows that the joker could be recast.
