Rockstar Red Dead Redemption

Do you really believe though that they will have no games this year outside of a GTAV PC port? I just dont see that as being the only title for the 2015-2016 fiscal year

Id hope not, but what has Rockstar done recently that would make you think that? If you've noticed how their last few AAA titles have gone, you'd understand why an E3 announcement with a release in the fall or shortly after doesnt seem all that likely. Im not saying its impossible and hell I hope we do get word on their next, but just going off their recent history, Im not holding my breath. Im expecting an announcement in or around fall, then some huge delay, then a year or so after their original announcement, the game.

GTA V was announced in Oct of 2011, the game hit Sept of 2013(after delays)

Max Payne 3 was announced in 2009, the game released in May of 2012(after delays)

Red Dead Redemption was announced in Feb of 2009, the game released in May of 2010(after delays)

GTA IV was announced in March of 2007, the game released in Apr of 2008(after delays)

RS may not attend the actual show but that doesnt mean they wont have coverage during E3. Releasing a trailer or giving a website like IGN an announcement and preview footage is still a possibility

rockstar releases games pretty sparsely. which I think is good, they just take more time to make bigger and more ambitious projects it seems namely gta.

Nothing, which is why I see it happening. Based on what you have written about the most recent releases, they theoretically should have announced a game a year or two ago. I dont see them announcing a game now for a 2017 or 2018 release. They have to have stuff that is more ready than people think bc its been years since most of the studios outside of North have released something. The company has investors they need to please and I dont think they can get by with just a PC port of GTA V. I do see a title announced for fall with a Feb 2016 release at the latest, just to meet that fiscal year deadline

Up until GTA V, they used to have an annual release. They timed it so that there was always a rotation of titles coming out

I hope so, I just don't see it happening, based on their track record. If they announce something this fall, a Feb release isn't likely at all. Rockstar isn't in the business of releasing games just to meet fiscal deadlines. It's partly why damn near every game they make gets hit with some big delay.

But I deff hope ur right. I'm ready for whatever it is that Rockstar has planned, because it more than likely will be beyond epic.

I don't know about this rumor but I believe a new game will be revealed at E3 or sometime next year. I hope it's a prequel but about a younger John Marston during his days in the gang.

Rockstar doesn't appear at E3 but they're games do like when Sony announced the PS4 port and showed a trailer.

right, but it's not like one year without a release will throw them much off schedule. that being said, them releasing a game of any sorts this year still not out of the question.

1 year off isn't an issue as that was the case last year and really not what I was getting at

I'm dying for a new Red Dead

guess I'll just have to sate myself with a 4th playthrough of Redemption

Has anybody seen all this brouhaha about RDR 2? Apparently some website received an anonymous e-mail from a former Rockstar employee detailing minor details, including an official announcement coming at this years E3 for a 2017 release date.

Seems awful suspect, the whole anonymous e-mail side of things. Could just be the website in question doing some quick and easy click-bait. If that's the case, it's worked because plenty of other sites are running with the story. I haven't personally visited the original site, only the one I linked above (which also suggests to take this with a grain of salt).

Nonetheless, I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of announcement this year. It also wouldn't be surprising to see the next installment of RDR have multiple protagonists, as much as Rockstar like to take steps backward in the gameplay I doubt they'll ever go back to a single Player Character for their big open world games.

I'll buy it whenever it comes out, my only hope is that they give us more to do once the story is finished. For someone who doesn't bother with online gaming very often, if ever, the single player experience can get boring fast once the main missions are complete. I don't have high hopes for that honestly, not after GTA V continued to do the same ol' same ol' that they've been doing since 1997. In any case it'll be cool to have an old west setting again.

Its possible. I mean I fully expect a Red Dead Redemption sequel to be the next Rockstar release and we know that Take Two(parent company of R*) will be at E3 in "a big way", so its possible info of the next RDR is starting to leak. However I do remember the exact same thing happened with GTA V and all the "leaked info" turned out to be bunk and for that reason im thinking this info is false.

Im absolutely ready for RDR2 though. Id like RDR to be made backwards compatible as well, or better yet a remaster.

I agree. People are treating the news like it's a done deal, but I don't think they're reading beyond the headlines.

There's talk in the article I linked to about a remaster, but again that could all be fiction as well. There's always 'leaks' when big developers and their titles are concerned.

A website I've never heard of reporting on an anonymous email. Seems legit!

You've heard of them now, which was probably the point.

Read like clickbait to me. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Red Dead 2 announcement this year, but I doubt the site was at all accurate.

Allegedly leaked map for Red Dead 3.

I'm really hoping the rumours are true and we hear something about a new Red Dead game soon!

E3 is on the horizon. Fingers crossed we get our announcement then

They'll likely make their own announcement prior to that with the big media push starting at E3. I wouldnt be surprised if they put out a teaser next month to hype up the game and then have strong show presence at either MS or Sony's show

Rockstar could troll us all and just announce a GTA V expansion pack

Haha man that's a possibility. I mean we know there is some expansions in the works for GTAV so that's gotta be on the horizon. I was hoping it'd be both. When RS says they'll be at E3 in a big way, I'm think Red Dead announcement and the unveiling of the GTA V story expansion

I really didn't like GTAV.. I'm beyond done with that series. It peaked at VC for me. Give me freaking RDR already.

I liked GTA V but they've literally done nothing but release it for 3 years straight. We cant get another year and GTA V is all that Rockstar pushes out. Like what the hell are the other studios doing?
