In single player is a character, in MP he is nothing more than a skin.
The only diference between Ricketts and a generic skin is that Ricketts is part of the main game.

wow, really?

So not only is it going to have another class of characters to be (at least 8 new characters) its also giving everyone new MP maps and its free, and people are still complaining. I really hate the internet.

That being said, I recently had to cancel my xbox gold subscription, and can't play online any more. So that sucks for me. I love RDR's mulltiplayer. This past 4x XP session I finally passed into legend... twice.

Almost all the other main characters from the game (the entire Marston family, Bonnie Macfarlane, Edgar Ross, Dutch, Col. Allende, Abraham Reyes, Luisa, etc.) and from Revolver, for that matter (Red, Shadow Wolf, Ugly Chris, etc.), all have multiplayer skins available already as DLC. Landon is one of the few that was left out (until now).

Doesn't sound like it, though an article I read (I think on IGN) stated "new areas," which sounded like possible Free Roam content to me. Guess not, though.

I just recently started playing through Undead Nightmare (after owning it for almost a year ) so I'll be happy for more free RDR DLC. It really is a great game. If it had a bit more variation in Free Roam it would be one of the best online games ever, IMO.

I keep meaning to play the Undead Nightmare, but that no ammo thing is a real *****. If the goal is to kill all the zombies, some ammo sure would be nice

This. At the start, ammo is a little limited, but I've still never run out of ammo. You get craploads of ammo for completing challenges, too. It really is an amazing DLC experience.

Zombie Free Roam would've been awesome.

It's a free DLC that's useless to people who haven't paid for a Live account, so yes, people are going to be disappointed.
