Rockstar Red Dead Redemption

Man, I wish more developers announced things like Rockstar. As in, within a reasonable amount of time before it's released. This thing will be out by the end of the year, meanwhile most games get announced two, three years in advance.

I had this explained to me once, around the time of Fallout 4's release I think, because it bothered me too. Basically, in most cases, it has to do with whether or not the game developer is independently funded or if they have investors. Companies using the money of investors tend have a need to show interest from consumers, so they begin building hype far in advance. Folks like Rockstar or Bethesda (ZeniMax) use their own money so they can afford to wait and announce their game much closer to release.

At least that's what I remember. Someone else might be able to explain it in better detail.

In most cases yes but Take-Two is a public company so that doesnt apply. The success with GTA V likely gives Rockstar leeway to do what they want and they arent dependent on outside sources for funding. The game has been out 3 years yet still charts every month and that doesnt include digital sales from GTA Online's microtransactions. Their investors are happy

So reddeadonline has been registered by Rockstar. I'd be very disappointed if this was just an online multiplayer game.

I wouldn't worry. It will probably just get an online mode like GTAV.

Is that John Marston in the middle? Sure looks like it.

Also, would love to see another form of Undead Nightmare as potential DLC for this title.

Coming 2018! ;)

Agreed, I can see this happening. When has a Rockstar title never been delayed?

Awesome! Can't wait! Boring name though and Red Dead Revolver exists.

Now,if they want to offer a remaster of RDR on PS4 (so that my lazy ass doesn't have to bother going through last generation again for my fix until Fall 2017) well, that'd be just dandy too, partner. :ftc:
They can call it .... Red Dead Remastered!

We are getting a third Red Dead game called Red Dead Redemption 2. :whatever:

If that's John in the middle then I suspect this is a prequel with his gang.

Because it's RDR2... I don't think Revolver has much connection to RDR. I mean RDR wasn't red dead revolver 2.

The protagonists from Revolver (Red, Annie Stoakes, Jack Swift) would sometimes be mentioned during campfire stories by other NPCs when John would stay at a campfire in the world. Neat Easter Egg but that was it.

I'm thinking it's a prequel considering that Redemption marked the "end" of the old west.

like others said, thats bc this is the second game. Redemption was not a sequel to Revolver. It was a spiritual successor more than anything. Think of it like Demon Souls to Dark Souls to Dark Souls 2

They could call this game Red Dead ******* for all I care. It's a new Red Dead game. Been waiting for this for the longest time.

It's a Red Dead game so it was a sequel. It made sense to name the sequel Red Dead something. They would have named it something else if it wasn't. This is also stupid because Revolver was just released on PS4 so it doesn't look like Rockstar is trying to forget it.

Edit: Sequels don't have to be connected by the story.

Really we are finally getting another game and people are complaining about this?
I'm excited about the game.
