Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Underworld Evolution which stars Kate Beckinsale, Scott Speedman, Bill Nighy and Tony Curran. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extras will include a director and filmmaker’s commentary, a making-of-featurette, a visual effects featurette, a creature featurette, a stunts featurette, a design featurette, another featurette on the music and sound design, and a bonus music video.

Will there be an unrated 2 disc coming out soon like they did for the first movie?? Maybe.

Just looking at the cover of the DVD makes me think of a third movie with a horde of Werewolves ravaging the Earth and Vampires taking to the skies (borrowing the blood of Marcus).

Well, according to MTV (as of May 19, 2006) who spoke with Kate Beckinsale (promoting Click), Underworld 3 is being developed. Here are some other details ( a bit surprising too)...

Beckinsale revealed she will not star in the next "Underworld" movie, which husband Len Wiseman is developing. "I think it's a prequel before I'm actually in it, so I think that won't include me if it happens," she said.

I really like Kate in the lead role. Let's see what happens with the project and the prequel idea (which can be brilliant - if done correctly!!)

In many ways Underworld is the story of Selene, and even though the universe itself is pretty cool, I think Evolution whetted my appetite for a prequel story.

It already had a prequel scene, explained how Selene came to be, and added with the flashbacks of Lucian and Viktor in the first movie, what's the point of doing a prequel film now?

I think they should continue the story of Selene and Michael, or just leave it alone. I would prefer that they leave it alone, esp. since they've made Selene and Michael damn near invincible.

Then again, a X-Men type Operation: Zero Tolerance storyline with humans hunting down Lycans and Vampires would be cool. The two sides would have to join forces, and maybe have Selene lead their combined forces. To add to the drama, the main human leader-let's call him Bastion-has kidnapped Selene & Michael's child, killing Michael in the process.

I think they will do a prequel but i think a 3rd movie should come first as i really really want to see a thrid and Kat is kicks ass and i what to see her kick ass lol.

But i like the idea of a prequel but not yet and also it cant be a thrid underworld as its a prequel to underworld not the next stroy is it, so i think its just a rumor really at the moment or MTV took what see said and mixed it a bit.
