this whole oh Kristen is not as pretty as Charlize thing kind of annoys me people keep on saying this online lol

people do realize inner beauty is a huge theme in snow white go watch the 5 minute clip it specifically shows snow white’s mother touching her chest as a young child and saying
“You posses rare beauty my love,in here(points to her chest)”
the queen can be as beautiful as she wants but she has a dark and evil heart the queen wants that pure beating heart that snow white has

the inner beauty and strength to fight in snow white is also the reason the prince falls in love with snow white and not the queen

Either Charlize Theron is very tall or Kristen Stewart is very small. Or both.
I think Charlize is known for being a pretty tall lady.

I think Rush is the one that is really going to give him a chance to step out from the action hero mould.
I thought Axl was referring to the very specific "Bearded Fantasy Hero" type of role that this and Thor fall into, not general "Action Hero." I agree it looks like he'll mostly be an action guy, but that seems to be the type of projects he wants to do (hard to blame him since he came from a soap opera where he just had to be pretty). Plenty of people have had long careers doing mostly that type of thing with a random drama or comedy thrown in every now and then for flavor (ala Tom Cruise), so I don't see it as a problematic direction for him at all.

dont know if this was posted since it is a couple months old about trilogy talks
Snow White and The Huntsman producer Joe Roth revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the action adventure is “meant to be the first in a series of films”, adding that “this story will end, but there will be questions remaining for these three characters”.
so the story will end but we'll get more films

so more like batman trilogy(separate stories for each film) than lord of the rings(one prolonged story spaced across 3 films)

so what do you guys make of this?

I just don't know why they didn't just make a 100% original fantasy series then if the goal is to franchise it.

Maybe the idea is to take different Grimm stories, retelli them in the same style and have them be vaguely interconnected? The "New Grimm Saga" if you will?

I dunno, the problem I've had with this film from day one is that it's trying everything in it's power not to be a Snow White film, in which case just make something 100% original from scratch. Where's there to go after this in terms of making it a franchise?

^i guess we will find out we dont know what happens in the end or how the characters end up

I really think Universal is very confident in this film

the film is more than 2 months away and we have gotten :

- 9 Posters
- 4 Behind The Scenes Featurettes
- 2 Full Theatrical Trailers
- 5 Minute Wonder Con Trailer
- Promotion at Wonder&Comic Con
- Tons Of Promotional Stills

The new trailer (and 'extended look' trailer) have made me just more excited to see this. I'm fine with Kristen's casting, beauty - after all - is in the eye of the beholder and like someone mentioned, the extended trailer shows us Snow's mother telling her she has an inner beauty.

The backlash for Kristen definitely comes from Twilight and my main problems with her in that isn't so much her acting - but it's the lines that she was given. There's only so much an actor can do with crap material (and I actually enjoy the Twilight books to a degree). I'm willing to give her a chance in SWatH. If she can distance herself from Twilight and prove that, when given good material, she can act well...maybe some people might change their minds

Charlize looks FABULOUS! and seems like she's going to be a really really awesome EQ (her laugh at the end of the trailer? Chills)

Hemsworth...now I fully admit that he's the main reason I want to see this. I think it was on another message board someone was complaining about him looking so dirty and grimy - it's like, DUDE! He's a huntsman! A huntsman who's good at his job is able to blend in with nature so that the animals don't even know he's there! (plus, there's something about a man all grungy, scruffy, and dirty that I just love) *lol*

So yeah... definitely looking forward to this over that *other* SW film.

I agree about Hemsworth. If you wanted to see him looking polished (and amazing) watch Thor!

I'm definitely excited about this. It's all about Charlize though. From what I've seen, she's doing an amazing job!

I actually understand the trepidation, but I think Sanders struck upon a really good idea, where we take "fairy stories" or what have you and add a mythic layer to them. I think he was talking in an interview about the poisoned apple in particular (don't quote me, can't remember which one exactly) and said how it pertains to original sin and how Ravenna is essentially the embodiment of the darkness within all of us. And the dwarves who are gold miners trying to find "the light within the darkness." I just think he seems to be on the right sort of thought process with this film so I'm intrigued to see where it leads.

As to the second part, I could very easily see this leading into a Beauty and the Beast type epic, where the "connection" is that the Beast was turned by Ravenna after he refused her offer to marry him to save his kingdom. Just a thought.

It also appears that Theron was wearing heels but Stewart was wearing a pair of sneakers, which made their height differences much more obvious.

Are we really discussing Kirsten's inner beauty as related to the Snow White theme? Chamon.

She is the one thing holding this movie back to me. Had they cast someone a bit more vibrant and not mopey I would be all for this. We'll see if she pulls it off but my guess is that Charlize will steal the movie and Kisten will be mopey off to the side.

Oh yeah Axl was, I was just saying that I think Rush will be a role, like say Cruise in BOTFOJ, that shows he can stretch beyond action roles. I certainly have no issue with him favouring big action projects as he has the look and charisma that is perfect for them.

I think right now Hollywood also lacks alot of young actors who can be action stars on the big screen that doesn't involved too many green screens and special effects. Thor obviously has them too, but with movies like SWATH I think Chris Hemworth may become the new go-to man when it comes to action movies. But I don't think he'll be typecast, and this is why he took projects such as Rush to diversify his resume.

Seen the new trailer. Snow White could maybe challenge The Hobbit as fantasy film of the year.

Sigh, if only Red Riding Hood was this good. That great fairy tale was not treated well in last year's film.

There are lots of young talent but Hollywood don't trust them as major A-list stars.

if you want to ignore a major theme in this film go right ahead:whatever:

inner beauty is a big part of the snow white mythos

this is'nt america's next top model:o

In the Snow White mythos, it was never about inner beauty, sorry to spoil it for you guys. It was about outer beauty. The mirror says numerous times that the queen is the fairest while Snow White is younger, only when Snow White grows into her teens is the queen not fairest anymore.
It had nothing to do with inner beauty; that's a modern day invention for the tale.
In the original tale the evil queen isn't some hag that sucks the life out of beauties either, this movie is taking artistic liberties, and that's fine.

Indeed.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie now. Hopefully, Kristen Stewart gets to be full on badass.

eh it depends on how you take "i want her beating heart"

many people take it as seeking out snow white's inner beauty due to the queen black and non existing heart

The Queen wants to be the fairest in all the land. You can't be uggo and be the fairest in all the land. If this movie has that message that it's inner beauty and not outer beauty that truly matters and has some Disney-esque redemption or realization then I will vomit. The Queen wants her beating heart meaning out of her meaning deadzo.

If you want that movie then Tarsem made a movie for you.
