I'll back up that "twist" thing mentioned above. The info came from two very trusted sources - read: Anjow and Miranda. I've been hard on Anjow in regards to the "big" scoop he couldn't dish out a week or two ago, but the guy is still trustworthy when it comes to details.

In any case...

Yes, it seems that Joker really is ALL WHITE, but has fashioned himself to look like a mere whacko dressing up in clown paint. I'm not sure why he would do this, but of course, this is the Joker - everything is a ruse. As Miranda said, he's "not what he seems."

I believe he's implying you're too picky.

This is what we know about the Joker:

He is incredibly smart in the film. They will display this. The marketing today proved that he is better with clues than probably even the Riddler. He is also very knowledgeable of other killers before him.

- He has computer skills and might even be hacking into Gotham's security systems and such from the outside. The surveillances on the site today can show that.

-He has a sense of humor and is not malicious sounding. He talks about death like it's a game, a joke.

-He'll challenge the Batman physically but also mentally, just as we were today- Batman WILL be a detective in this film.

-He made a small reference to Harvey Dent. He alluded to another Lawyer get hurt in a courtroom.....

-He'll announce his crimes. He announced what would happen today 15 hours in advance.

The Laugh is perfect in my eyes. It's no Hamil, but for live action, it couldn't be better. the look is breathtaking;y sinister and if what I think is going to happen with the painted face happens, he is the perfect Joker.

How am I being too picky? I didn't say it sucked, all I said was I was a little underwhelmed. So far I like his characterization, but...I don't know. The outfit screams Joker to me, but his actual makeup doesn't.

How do you know any of this? Some of these are kind of obvious, but it sounds like you're pulling the computer skills thing out of your ass.

This is what I've thought the whole time. I think that it is just to further illustrate the movement from the mob element ([BLACKOUT]what he kind of pretends to be and work for[/BLACKOUT]) to the freak element ([BLACKOUT]what he is and reveals[/BLACKOUT]) in Gotham. It is the escalation that Gordon and Batman talked about at the end of Batman Begins. The transition will be brought full circle when a Two-Face comes about representing both parties, the freaks and the regular criminals, split down the center.

I was hovering between 9 and 8, but ended up with a 9. I'm still on the fence with the overall look, mainly because I have yet to see a picture with an angle (and clarity) that really reveals the Joker (but I would rather wait to see the full thing). Overall, I think the look is good and its nice to see the Joker with his trademark purple suit. The characterization, however, is ****ing SPOT-ON.

On the site today he hacked the surveillance camera's of the city. He also has hacked the Harvey Dent campaign cite and has created his own cite today.

What the **** are you talking about?
The shade and color of lips and hair is what has you underwhelmed. WOW, haHahHAhahHAhahAHHa

Spoken like a TYPICAL comic book dork. Too reliant on visuals and matching exactly to the original design than accepting faithful adaptation. Off characterization alone, based off the two lines of simple dialogue ... the characterization seen through the eyes of Alfred, the verbage and jokes from the marketing ... the suave, intelligent, criminal prankster he's been with these MASSIVE marketing games ... he's easily the most accurate representation of the comic book Joker. More so than B:TAS (he's more ruthless than seen in this show), he's more accurate in looks and dialogue than Nicholson's Joker, and he knocks Romero's version out the park. **** outta here with underwhelming. How could ANY of this be underwhelming. This thing is gaining HUGE amounts of steam. I mean seriously, what on earth could've made this most faithful interp any better? Was there supposed to be a real life Joker come on the local news of your city and announce he was going to kill people? Would that have made you satisfied? LMAO ...

Nolan HATERS.

Exactly. It's not hard to speculate that Joker will probably be playing everyone before the film is over - he'll infuriate the police, double-cross the mob, and probably outsmart Batman a few times (though not in the end.)

From the teaser, what I'm guessing will happen is that the Mafia/mob/gangs get hit hard by Gordon/Dent/Batman, and really are forced to reach out to the Joker for help in fighting back. At that point in the film, I'm thinking the Joker has been a large nuisance, and the mob wants to use him as a tool to confound the authorities. But, as we all know, once they make a deal with him, it's like making a deal with the devil - they think he's their tool, when in reality, the Joker is the puppetmaster. I think it's at this point when we realize Joker's "true" nature (i.e., Miranda's/Anjow's spoiler mentioned above.)

I'll go with 8, that's a giant leap from the 5 I gave the first pic.

If we get a picture of Ledger's Joker grinning and it looks killer, I might knock it up to 8.5.
If his skin is white all around as the rumors say, it might be a 9.

I think..

..the TDK viral team has a real Batman comics writer doing the writing/characterization of Joker.

and...

.. Iron Man has Heath Ledger's hairline.

You know i'm right.

I think the "twist" makes perfect sense - not only is it very clever, it's also very Nolan-ish. It won't fool us (since we spoil these things for ourselves), but it will probably trick the casual audience who aren't necessarily the biggest of Batfans.

I hope it happens early or in the middle of the film, and not at the end.

The Joker looks and acts like a mixture of the following Jack the Ripper, Mark Hamill, and Beetlejuice. Wouldnt wanna run into him in a dark alley...

I voted an 8. But other than that, The Joker is looking pretty good. He does seem to be very smart in his skills to take things over for himself. Which could hint at something else there. His jokes are very sinister in nature. He's absolutly lost his mind. With everything we're being given; from sites, photos, clues, and whatnot..This Joker is seeming to be memorable. Well, What Joker hasn't been memorable?? Seriously? Ramero, Nicholson, Hamails. We always remember who The Joker is. Ledger's just another name to that list. Good or bad, We won't forget Ledger's Joker.

But The Dark Knight Joker looks like something we have never seen before, and that's the best thing we can hope for.

I'm with you on this, especially the Marketing Team. This is a BRILLIANT marketing strategy so far. Yeah, the general public doesn't know much about this yet, but it's gaining HUGE steam among the fans, the internet community, Sci-Fi fans, and anybody that follows film.

This film could make a bigger impact than I originally thought.

I really like it, but I hope he's not a physco that dresses like a clown. It just makes him some weirdo mobster. Overall, I'd say 9. Hes gonna be awesome.

I think this is a perfect Joker to be honest. I love how Nolan has created the Batman universe but washed over it with a sense of reality. I feel Ledgers Joker will both be confrontational, maniacal, funny and scary. I think the fact he may apply his own make-up and possibly scarred himself is much, much, much more frightening than the tiresome "acid" bath origin story. I have absolute faith in Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger to make this work. To be honest, he couldn't be worse than Jack Nicholson' portrayal which was way too hammy and OTT. Maybe I am missing the point which most Comic Geeks think I should be seeing but I've always seen The Joker as being a pscycopath first, clown prince of crime, second. That's just me.

Not really. He'd be a clown faced serial killer (who happens to kill the highest profile of people, announcing it ahead of time), has to have an entire national guard come out to defend a city so afraid, and has an un-natural smiley faced GASH across his entire face. That isn't a weirdo mobster. haha
