Oh yeah it says that in his sig right? Hahaha wow. Give me a freakin break. Unreal.

its funny cus he also "hates fanboys that ruin everything for everyone", and yet he seems to want to ruin people's enjoyment of Into Darkness.

True :funny: His sig is hilarious now that I read it and see how he carries himself in his posts.

Count me as another who really likes Into Darkness. Not as good as the first, but a more than solid sequel IMO.

I agree man. But apparently we are wrong because Binker says "it is in fact bad". So we are wrong on this one you guys.

In2D is a perfectly fine as a movie and gets far more hate that it deserves IMO.

My only problem with STID is that it seems to squander the boundless potential set up in Star Trek 2009. They had a whole new time line to explore and they chose to do a quasi remake of Khan. But even with that disappointment, STID is a solid, well-made, fun film.

I also loved STID, even got off work early one day to see 2nd showing.

I didn't even mind them using Khan. I just don't think that the story they told with Khan was all that interesting or had very high of stakes.

Also probably gonna do a little marathon of 09 and Into Darkness this weekend before seeing Beyond.

If Pine is at SDCC for Wonder Woman, I wonder if he'll drop in on the ST panel that Bryan Fuller is moderating.

"Yes, I can confirm that I will be playing Paul Krendler in Hannibal Season 4."

Into Darkness was fun!

Really excited for this movie! Get that certified fresh rating! :ilv:

Both 09 and STID have certified ratings as well, and it seems like this one will to. That's the first time that we've gotten that with three ST films in a row if I'm not mistaken?

SAW IT !!!!! I only wish I had gone with 2D instead of 3D because everything was extra dark.

It was really fun. I'd say Bones is the MVP of this movie by far. Also, I kind of like all the little references to Star Trek : Enterprise, give that it's the only tv show that is fully canon anymore. Only wish we got more of Idris's character. Sofia Boutella was great as well, I kinda want her to be in the next one too. The Sabotage usage is not as dumb as it was in the trailer, I think you will like it.

All in all, I like it a lot.

I loved ST:ITD. I was actually genuinely surprised by the Khan thing because that was the one film that I avoided all spoilers and didn't visit the boards to try and get updates.

Above that I just loved the film. I love that this cast became so comfortable in the roles. I remember back in '88 when TNG came out and many people were pissed that somehow a group of new actors could come in and think that they were just as good as the original cast. I'd say that group had more pressure than this one to get it right, also because Star Trek was dead in the water before ST '09 came out.

But this cast did have the added pressure of reprising much beloved roles, that were iconic and they did so beautifully. They have all taken cues from the orignial cast but made it their own and the same can be said of Cumberbatch and Khan. It's not Montleban's Khan, nor should it be and it's good in it's own right.

I get why some don't like it, but for people saying it's factually a bad film (especially when the same guy is saying MoS is unfairly criticized?), this is what makes me hate the Internet. It's like the 10,000 negative reviews of Ghostbusters before the movie ever came out in theaters.

Needless to say I've loved the Abram's Trek films especially the first one. They reinvigorated my love of the series.

So I was talking to someone who'd claimed to have seen the movie, and he said that:

-Jaylah survives and goes to the Academy at the end (if true then I'd love to see her return in a future film).

-Spock-Prime has died offscreen in-between films.

-No mention at all of Carol Marcus (disappointing).

-Krall is a great villain.

Are these all true or not?

Yes to the first three. I hope Sofia comes back in No. 4 as well because I LOVED her.

As for Krall, I'm not sure. I wish they explained it a bit more in depth how he became what he became and I totally didn't get his big plan - that part was kind of underdeveloped. What was that weapon, I mean what would it do to the population - just kill it ??? His side of the story was kind of underdeveloped for my taste, very MCU villain - not counting Loki/Killgrave/Kingpin

This movie actually felt like a 2-hour big budget episode of a Star Trek series, with a lot of action.

Well if they're going to write Chekov out, then you could bring in Jaylah to be part of the crew (Saavik could also work I think potentially). Plus it'd add another woman to the cast for Uhura to interact with.

So how was Pegg's script overall, pretty decent?
