Bumping...

Anyways, I finally got around to getting J.J. Abrams Star Trek film on Blu Ray (looks amazing) and I gotta say, I love it a lot more than I did when I went to see it in theaters. After the movie ended, I couldn't figure out why I didn't like it that much when it first released... I guess I was expecting something completely different.

That said, I can't wait for the sequel. :D

I agree. Story wise I don't think its anything we have seen before but its just a gorgeous looking picture and flat out entertaining.

If every sequel can be as entertaining then I will be satisfied by this 21st century update of the movie franchise. It really doesn't have to be a masterpiece on the level of Blade Runner, Alien, or 2001. Just deliver a fun and entertaining film. Of course since it is science fiction I would mind something a little more imaginative and mind boggling. It is a big Universe after all.

I only had a problem with the newbies executing that space jump and operation. I would think there would be better qualified guys for something like that etc..

..that and sulu's sword

Was I the only one wondering why Sulu was carrying around a sword? Those standard issue or something?

If you are talking about the original, then yeah he had one in his quarters like mounted on a wall one episode if I remember correctly. The only time we see him use was in Mirror, Mirror episode.

Pike wanted crew members with combat training. Sulu's training was in fencing, so naturally, he would bring the sword for the mission.

Of course... he was more of a jumping, flipping samurai-ninja.

I'm surprise that we're going through another news drought, after all of the recent activity. I wonder if Ramerez and the other guy they were considering, after del Toro dropped out, didn't pass Abram's litmus test for the villain?

If JJ is looking at hispanic or latino actors for a villain role, then I honestly think Antonio Banderas would kick ass as a villain in this Star Trek sequel.

I hope JJ considers him. Banderas can bring the intensity, charisma and wickedness!

Yeah Banderas can be a good choice he definitely has the intensity Just saw the movie with him and Stallone and he was pretty kickass

If she's in the film, who do you guys and gals think should play Nurse Christine Chapel?

I would love to see that. I also wouldn't be sad if they used Nestor Carbonell, especially since him and JJ worked on Lost together and he is in the high profile movie TDKR.

Thanks to The Skin I Live In, I'm totally on the Banderas train right now.

meh, Gael Garcia Bernal is a better actor anyway, I hope they get him to do the movie...

I am so loving the ensemble for this film.

Weller, Alive Eve and Cumberbatch? I can't tell who I have a bigger ***** for.

All this Cumberbatch lately is making me think I should start watching Sherlock.

So happy that this guy's star is rising cause he certainly deserves it. I just hope he can still find time to keep doing Sherlock.
