Star Trek Sequel - Part 1

Ugh... I know everyone loves Star Trek IV and it does indeed work well as a fish-out-of-water sci-fi comedy... and maybe even as a TV episode... but as a Star Trek film, it f**king BLOWS. Trek films should be as epic as Star Wars films. That's why Abrams' last one worked so well. The humor and the characters were there of course, but it was also a Trek film as it was meant to be... on a GRAND scale. It's why Wrath of Khan worked so well too. It just had an epic feel to it.

I never want to see an "Aww, shucks!" comedy Trek film again.

there have been epic episodes and comedy episodes of the show...i didn't see an issue with a lighter film

I want a story that involves a Romulan/Klingon war with the Federation caught in the middle.
Yeah, that could actually be really cool.

Also, in this new ST franchise we really need the Orion Slave Girls envolved somehow. If it's only five minutes I'm good. :hrt:

Note Spock's complete uninterest at ca 01:33-56. "This is illogical."

I wish the Orion Slave Girls featured more heavily. Wasn't there one in Starfleet last time? We should get one as a main character who doesn't like wearing the uniform but prefers to go around in her typical harem dress jiggling her body, even on the bridge of the Enterprise. If she were at the helm, then whenever they make contact with a new hostile species, she could serve as a distraction and catch them off guard. :woot:

I can't believe this, I was on some other Star Trek forum and some "fans" are still complaining about the new Captain Kirk having blue eyes.

I guess you never watched Enterprise's later episodes. It's okay, nobody else did either, apparently.

So I guess I'll be the nerdy Star Trek fan who points out the issue if the rumors are true about Khan being in the new film.

...so Khan technically has to be Hispanic looking. Since Nero went back in time and started a new timeline after the 1990's, any retcons about the Eugenics Wars has to stay in tact in order to not be a contradict the prime timeline.

:o

Technically he should be Indian.

As B-movie like as Star Trek movies are, the latest film is still one of the best in the series third after First Contact and the Wrath of Kahn.

You know the writers have dealt with this somehow. It's just a question of how well.

They probably dealt with it by not dealing with it at all because it's a different movie and it doesn't really matter.

You aren't familiar with Roberto Orci then. I forgive you.

I think the later seasons never were aired over here (Sweden), did it go downhill in those episodes?

I like how you're thinking. :woot:

No many trek fans consider the last 2 seasons of enterprise their best and big Improvements over the first 2 seasons.Season 3 reminds me of Deep Space Nine(My
favorete Spinoff) and season 4 Is the show many fans wanted enterprise to be.Much more tie In to other shows except for the terrable last episode.

i've recently sat down and re-watched Enterprise.... and completely ignored the finale. Generally not the sort to do that either but the stunt plot device of killing trip was just a moronic thing to have done.

Plus they particuly turned the finale Into a Next Generation episode. The 2 parter before it should be seen as real Enterprise finale.

I thought the entire Xindi storyline was actually pretty cool.

I did actually. They did have that episode with the Orion Slave Girls where it was revealed that they are actually the ones in charge. However, I want to see one as a fully-fledged character in Starfleet who simply hates wearing uniform because it's too rough against her skin, and she likes the freedom of walking around in her harem outfit. Perhaps as a compromise, they'll let her dress like that when she's off duty, and as it happens she seems to be off duty a lot of the time. :woot:

I'm sure William Shatner's Kirk wouldn't have been opposed to having a beautiful Orion Slave girl as his yeoman.

actually if I remember he wasn't too fond of Yeoman Rand being his Yeoman

Yeah, not Rand, but he didn't seem to mind the other more attractive ones. The Orion Slave girl could always be a science officer or in yellow, which i'm not sure what division that is in the original series (I know it's operations in TNG).

I think he didn't like having an attractive young woman as his yeoman

and in the original series:
yellow was command
Blue is science and medical
Red is engineering

personally, I absolutely HATED the T'Pol/Tucker romance nonsense and how they tried to make a Romeo and Juliet type thing from it. Too long, too annoying, and you could see it coming a mile away come season 3. I felt the Archer/T'Pol would have been a better angle. Whatever
Still not as bad as Seven of Nine/Chakotay :cmad:
