Disney may drag TROS over $500M if it’s close enough below using tactics that they employed in the past from giving the movie an expansion in theaters like Endgame to double billing like they did for A Wrinkle In Time. There’s tools in the woodshed and options if need be.

How ‘Incredibles 2’ Helped ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Hit $100 Million at the Box Office

But obviously if it doesn’t fade that badly there’s no need.

The film made another $15 million this weekend and it still stands at $478 million domestic. It's easily crossing $500 million domestic. EASILY. It's at $478 million after this weekend. You think it can't muster another $22 million or more?

I was addressing Stark Bauer's wager. Sorry if that wasn't apparent without the quote. It was a 'what if' it actually was heading sub-$500M.

Really? I thought Xbox was only unpopular in Japan.

I can take a picture of the video game section here if you want to see for yourself. Xbox isn't even sold in stores in Korea, at least not outside niche video game shops in Seoul.

That's because Koreans are pretty much exclusively PC Gamers.

I will stubbornly hold onto my <$500 million domestic prediction. Not ready to change my mind yet

The Switch and PS4 have a decent sized section at the Korean equivalent of Walmart/Target, though. And the Switch especially seems to rising in popularity among kids. It's funny though, because for them Nintendo is basically a handheld-only developer. They know about the DS, and the 3DS, and now the Switch seems to be making the biggest splash.

Surprised by that s koreans are not exactly fond of the japanese.

It's a strange irony. They don't like Japan, but they love stuff from Japan. There's tons and tons of toys and other merchandise for Pokemon, Gundam, Super Sentai, DBZ, Yokai Watch, One Piece, etc. I mean, look at all this stuff:

Yeah, it's kind of silly to assume a Star Wars movie with no genre competition cannot hit another 22 million before the end of it's run. It should hit it in three weeks, tops.

i would not be shocked if it did not

It's gonna end up making roughly half the gross of the first movie. Take that haterz!

Well, if it doesn't, then that is a sign that this trilogy has no staying power. A Star Wars film that doesn't cross a billion is considered a flop in the eyes of the mouse.

It should hit a billion WW today (Tuesday) or at the very latest tomorrow.

It needs stay above 1 million without fail for the next 21 days.

That, to me, sounds like a tall order and unrealistic without some sort of Disney gimmick in play.

$1 billion is the very least this film should be ‘hitting’. A film that completes a 42 year old story, with it’s heritage and attachment to people, should be raking it in.

Attack of the Clones made 649 million. Yes, yes. Inflation and tickets sold, but the point still stands. It got eviscerated by Spider-Man that summer. Interest in Star Wars hasn't changed much in 20 years. The Force Awakens was an outlier.

Attack of the Clones was a poorly recieved movie, as was The Phantom Menace. The Force Awakens is the only movie since the OT that really had the majority of the audience in positive spirits. We'd be looking at very different results if all of the PT and ST movies had actually made the majority of the audience happy.

05. SW9: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - $1001 mil and counting...
06. SW3: Rise of the Sith (2005) - $850 mil
07. SW4: A New Hope (1977) - $775,5 mil
