If Vaughn directs then it's a shoe-in that Hamill will be in it. He was already set to be in Vaugh's Secret Service (wonder what will happen to that now?).

Well, color me unimpressed, but I'm reconciling myself to Vaughn. Chloe as Jaina Solo? XD

I'd be more than fine with Vaughn + a solid non-rushed script.

Saw the video.

At first I sided with FilmNerdJamie in thinking it was nothing. Also noted that Flemying has a colorful personality so he's a hard read.

But when I saw his 'Deer in the headlights' look and his 'sure' response, I retracted a little because that was the only moment when his body language became awkward. As if he was quickly calculating what to say next to recover.

To play devils advocate, let say it was a slip: I think Jason assumed it was public knowledge already. That or he tend to be compulsive when he speaks (even being a veteran actor). I don't know.

I'm sure whomever is chosen to direct will do fine. I mean they can't possibly be any worse than having Lucas direct it himself.

I know it won't happen, but I'm still worried Lucas will try to get some kind of creative control over the new trilogy and muck the whole thing up.

He is a man who sold an entire franchise he created partly for retirement. I highly doubt he's gonna stop in one day and say, "No this is all wrong. This goes that way..." etc.

I think despite the whole creative consultant thing, he'll have less of a presence than people think. He is retired for a reason. Lucas is smart enough to know this isn't is anymore. Personally, I think he's kind of relieved to be. Lucas should know better than anyone about people coming in and getting in the way of their vision since he dealt with it for years.

Lucas sold this because he's tired of the constant bashing against him, and i'm glad he made the story that's going to be used but slightly altered for the next trilogy, he's an exelent ideas man, just not a good script writer

You mean he planned this for the past few years to sell his entire franchise for 4 billion just because of what people on the internet and a small voice of people think of him? That's pretty ridiculous.

He retired because he wants to focus his life on other things now that SW got in the way of. He's free of being soley responsible and now has the time to pursue his other goals.

What about this sudden interest in sci fi for Pedro Almodovar? I mean, right now, when Star Wars is up and moving again.
Anybody see a strange pattern?

Not saying Vaughn won't get the gig. Just that Flemying video isn't a game-changing revelation.

It very well could be Vaughn, though not my first choice, I would not mind him at all. Though he can be flaky when he wants to leave/stay, but with Star Wars I'm sure he would stay. Anyways I think they will give each film to a different director.

I have liked all of Vaughn's films so I'm not too worried. Stardust really had a great fantastic/epic feel to it, and he does well with characters. Interesting video, who knows? But I'm sure something will be announced soon enough.

It will be Stardust in space, or sci fi-dust :D

I don't wanna see Leia f**king a transgender Luke, thanks.

Stardust had some of the best sword duels I've ever seen, especially the last one. He can certainly do lightsaber duels justice without looks as stiff as in the OT or as dancey as in the PT.

I like Vaughn's filmography but I've always thought Starsust was neat in concept but it didn't hit the right notes for me.

There were some things missing, fo sho. The leads were terrible, for one.

Disney wouldn't let him leave. They would trap him.
