I don't remember if i posted these in this thread or not (my memory is failing me atm)...so here i go...

-Guardians and the first Avengers are overrated. Ill take Guardians over it any day though.

-Loki sucks as a "villain". He's a good supporting character, as a pain in the ass. But that's it.

-The first Iron Man is overrated. That final act does nothing for me. Even though i have problems with Winter Soldier, it's still the best MCU film.

-Quantum of Solace is not a good movie, but it's not terrible.

-I liked "Moon" (Duncan Jones/Sam Rockwell) but didn't think it was anything special.

-I really enjoyed True Detective Season 2, while everybody hated it. It's nowhere near Season 1 (*cough Fukunaga*) but it was solid.

-Somebody mentioned how "Bond songs suck". For the most part i agree. I hate the new one, i never liked the old ones. I only really like Cornell's from Casino Royale and Adele's from Skyfall.

-Star Trek is boring.

I don't know if this is unpopular but I thought that The Martian was better in every way than Interstellar, except maybe for the score. I know they are different films but I thought that Scott's movie was so much more enjoyable.
Fair enough, but for me enjoying something doesn't make it a better film. I can enjoy something and see that it's a mess or not well-made. And i can dislike something but respect the fact that it was well-made.

I enjoyed The Martian. But it's not making my top 10 at the end of the year because i didn't care for the last 20 minutes. Everything was rushed once Damon is found. Other than that, everythings tied up in a nice Hollywood bow.

I dont compare Martian to Interstellar because they're different. Martian was more like Gravity and Cast Away. But if i had to, i would say The Martian felt like a safe, humorous, fluffy, popcorn version of Interstellar.

It's still Ridley's best since Gladiator in my opinion.

Agreed about The Martian. A lot better than Interstellar. The ending to that film was ultimately not satisfying and kind of cheesy with the whole " love" thing.
I understand the love thing. But i actually loved Interstellar's ending, thought it was bold. While Martian to me was the ending that was cheesy and rushed.

dofp was the best x men movie i've ever seen
Agreed. It has its flaws, and it's not very original, but it's still my favorite of the franchise.

Gravity didn't do anything for me. I wasn't riveted by the story, I was detachedly thinking to myself that the visuals were pretty.
Samesies. And Sandra Bullock's performance might be the most overrated performance of all-time.

I enjoy reading everyones opinions in this thread. I find it interesting to see how we all differ with these films.

I actually think Guardians of the Galaxy and the first Iron Man are some of Marvels Best films and I find Both Avengers movies to be highly overrated. Yes I enjoyed them, but they are far from perfect and sit far below the pedestal that people put them on. X-Men DOFP is another good film I enjoyed but it is almost as overrated if not more than the Avengers films IMO. Don't get me wrong DOFP is one of the better X-men Films.

In the spirit of Halloween, in spite of being one of the most influential films ever made, the original Dracula kind of sucks. Bela Lugosi is great as the title character and the first 20 minutes about Renfield in Transylvania are fantastic. Then once they get to London, most of the rest of the movie is a bunch of annoying people (and Van Helsing) sitting around a house discussing things.

Frankenstein from later that same year is far, far better.

Wow, I guess that would be unpopular lol, I guess mine would be a toss up between Little Nicky or maybe Jack and Jill

You put Little Nicky into the same category as that diarrhea?

Ugh. :o

Happy Gilmore is one of Adam Sandler's worst films.

I don't think it's one of his worst films ... But I think it's overrated. I prefer The Waterboy to it, to be honest.

My favorite "typical Adam Sandler comedy" is, hands down, The Wedding Singer. It is an ultimate feel-good movie, and I can honestly watch it anytime. I love that movie, and I make zero apologies for loving it, too.

When it comes to Adam Sandler's movies altogether (not just his comedies), my favorite is still The Wedding Singer, with Punch Drunk Love in a really close second place.

When it comes to the worst Adam Sandler movies (among the ones I've seen, at least), I think that 8 Crazy Nights is one of the worst movies I have ever watched. I thought that Bedtime Stories was pretty god-awful as well.

I have never seen Jack and Jill, Don't Mess With The Zohan, or Pixels. One of these days I might see Pixels, but I have no desire to watch the other two. I know those movies would be a complete waste of my time.

I normally agree with Leenie on a lot ...

But The Waterboy is one of the most painful film-watching experiences I've had.

I did enjoy "Click", since it had a point.

Haha, I can see how The Waterboy can be a really annoying movie (and it is a lot of the time). Some of the jokes worked for me, though (mostly because of Kathy Bates, to be honest). Plus, I am a wee bit biased for football-centric movies. :)

Click isn't a bad movie; I can totally see why it was a hit at the box office. Some of the jokes fall flat for me, but the movie starts to tug at heartstrings in the third act (from out of nowhere). It's amazing how that works for a movie, right? When you actually have something to say, it becomes a more interesting film? Haha.

Zohan and Little Nicky share the title of the worst Sandler movie. The stupidity was too much for me. I literally wanted to scream my lungs out.

I respect Dracula for Lugosi and how iconic it is, but it actually butchers the book way more than Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula, which I've always found underrated.

Not you too, Arya.

Not you too...

^I hated Little Nicky (okay, I forget a good portion of it, to be honest), but I did crack a smile at the very end of the movie when it referenced Chris Farley.

I like Little Nicky. Popeye's chicken*is* the shiznit

I thought Little Nicky was hilarious when I was 12.

I liked The Longest Yard. I think Sandler's best was probably The Wedding Singer.

Moving past Sandler....

Leonardo DiCaprio on ludes in Wolf of Wall Street >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other performance of his career

He needs to do more comedy.

Another Halloween related unpopular opinion (possibly?). I really liked the first Stephen Sommers Mummy film. It was a fun, entertaining adventure film.

here's an unpopular opinion: leonardo dicaprio's never won an oscar, but that doesn't mean anything. the fact that he's been nominated so many times - that is an incredible feat in and of itself. plenty of actors arguably worthy of a nomination don't even get that.
