It’s hard to believe some people don’t like the posters, but whatever I have to accept that people’s opinions will never be the same. However, people who are complaining about a PINK outfit are WRONG. You clearly have a dodgy monitor or eye problems, either way get it sorted out because Beast costume has RED light projected onto it. When people twist their disliking for something it really annoys me.

I think these posters are awesome looking! and as far the pink leather thing goes, it doesnt look pink at all to me, i actually thought he was in a red outfit...please dont hate me everyone who's getting all bitter about this subject but it don't really look black except for the one side of his chest...thats my observation at least

Are the people at AICN serious?

These are great. They are a complete step up from the monotonous, monochromatic posters for the last two movies. They show this movie has some depth and meaning and that it's not some mindless superhero flick.

I absolutely love them.

And personally, why does it seem like this movies own FANS don't want it to succeed? It just saddens me cause I think this movie is gonna be freak'in awesome.

Uuh, mesa want's hires pics of them.

15 pages so quickly? wow. Hey I love them, Beast's pose is very Batman Beginsý.

AND the pinkish red - it's obviously a lighting thing.

Mainstream audiences will LOVE these.

Bryan Singer wasn't kidding when he said on the X2 commentary that X3 was goig to be a musical, don't get me wrong i've fought for this movie from day one, both off and online, and this is what i get? is FOX so mad because someone stole the cool pictures that they decided to give us weird photo-ops for official pics, What the hell is wrong with the publicity hounds? i don't even know what to say,if anyone involved in this movie starts calling it "Titanic" with mutants....

First of all I was reffering to the Beast Pink Leather comment.
I agree that the poster of Beast does not justify him enough.
But see I don't get that comment about the Pink Leather. The only reason people say that's because they've read Harry's critique, because I for one knew when I saw the pink in Beast's forehead and his Pink-ish hair, I knew it was the lighting.

I don't know anything about Harry, but it looks pink. You can justify it all you want by blaming it on the lighting (which is terrible), but it looks pink. If they had taken the time to properly light and colorize it, we could've had a decent poster. Instead, he looks like he's wandered into a day-glo Schumacer Batman movie.

And please do not generalise the public. Do you really think that the general public would say look a furry blue guy, OH! BREAST CANCER!
???? Come on............
The general public won't even say oh look!!!! this poster looks like that Rent poster I wonder if this a sequel. Come on.........

I was going to point out what a naive comment that is, but then I thought better of it. Perhaps you're just too young to know better. You have so much yet to experience.

You obviously over-estimate the average movie-going public.

This posters were released in wondercon, I doubt they would be stupid enough to release this posters to the general public without any hint about X3

What do you think the purpose of a teaser poster is, just so we're clear?

My point is that instead of kick-ass, amped-up posters to get everyone excited, we get emo-looking, rejected Obsession ads with poor composition and questionable lighting. This whole project from day one has reeked of poor-planning and rushing to put out a sub-par product in a petty effort to upstage another project.

Take an objective look every once in a while, and you might not get so worked up about things.

Hmm, yeah these are ok, it really depends on how they are being used though. If they are character posters for the film...then I hate em. If they are just promo images for magazines and stuff...I can dig em.

It's all subjective. What you might call terrible lighting and poor composition is your personal opinion. They obviously wanted a certain look, and went for something stylised with different use of light and shadow. It has nothing to do with 'poor planning and rushing' and whether they 'had taken the time to properly light and colorize it', here you are projecting your own perceptions on the situation. You feel it is all rushed, so you are seeing everything as rushed even when it may not have been. Unless you know for sure they did rush these posters, then don't say it.

My view is that I like some of the posters, some i am not so keen on, but it is personal taste. They have gone for a certain style of photography, lighting, design and font to achieve an effect they wanted to achieve. They didn't use that font because they had four seconds to do it, they chose it because they chose it.

How tainted are you going to get? Next it will be 'Storm's leaning on that wall because it's rushed', 'Phoenix is wearing that coat because it's rushed'.

Isn't it time you took off the 'it's rushed' spectacles and stopped filtering everything through your toxic sediment of prejudice?

I think a reason for the red tint lighting for the Beast poster may have been - it really emphasises his blue features. I think he really stands out in his poster, and what's the best colour to use to make a blue object stand out? - the direct opposite of blue - red!

I don't like these. The font is horrible and the images are just very cliche.

i think they used the red light for contrast, because of the dark color of the fur and the dark setting he and his uniform may have blended too much, they probably chose a red light because it's edgy yet it still separates him from the black leather.

I'm the one being subjective?

You see, I do have an objective point of view and commented that Beast's poster does not justify him enough. But the fact remains the lighting causes changes in colour in his outfit aswell as in his hair is very well GODDAMNIT obvious, that it's well... too tiring and frankly pathetic of me to try to explain to people who clearly avoid the fact in order to justify their own thoughts

I really over-estimate you, clearly If you are taking low punches against my age to boost your comments without actually having a civilized arguments, really, means you are very immature.

How shallow, kick-ass?amped-up? really my bet is that you probably enjoy this movie for the razzle dazzle of the action sequence, instead of the dramatic substance of the movie. The poster in itself depict a powerful emotion, they don't scream 'hey we're mutants! aren't we cool' maybe that's your cup of tea but it's not mine. This reminds me of all of my favourite X-men cover where it's a little artistic and off-beat instead of the action shot of all x-men crammed into one. i do look it up objectively, I do like it more than the previous, I wasn't so exited about the previous posters but I am about this one.

Let's just leave it at this before things get a little ugly. You don't like it, I do genuinely like it. We both disagree. There.

People can interpret these how they like..

These poster reveal LOTS about what these characters will be going through in the movie. None of them are looking at the camera. Rogue, Beast and Wolverine are looking down. Angel and Jean are looking up. Storm has her eyes closed.

It looks like Angel just wants to rise up and fly, break free.

The classic Phoenix pose is amazing. The open arms draws attention to the body and face.

The loner Wolverine has a big effect. We have seen him thrash away but we havent seen him as calm. Him sitting down suggests he is tired or lonely.

Storm is leaning against a pole, like Wolverine is leaning against the cylinder. They are both lonely...and we know they hook up. I think the fog is a reference to her powers. She looks strong and powerful.

Beast is just stood there. There are soldiers towards the bottom of the poster. I think this has something to do with the cure. He isnt smiling. Its like he is being shown for all to see.

Rogue is standing on her own too feet. She doesnt look scared. She is looking down like Beast so she too may have something to do with the cure.

Overall, I like these posters. They give a powerful scence of the film. Its darker, its serious. 'Take A Stand' suggests that they will all be standing up for what they think is right. Angel is standing against his father and accepting his mutation. Jean will take a stand about how she has been treated by Xavier. Storm and Wolverine will take a stand to stop the trouble created. Beast and Rogue will take a stand and decide their own futures.

At the end of the day they are for bus shelters. People will see them after they have been shopping and something. If they saw somebody smiling and it all be happy and light it would 'just be another poster'. This will make people look, and look again. These are going to be big so they will be seen by many people. I like them

excellent post
