Just saw it and overall it was a decent film, but I preferred TDK better. I thought hte movie was too long. Nolan's films tend to be more about Bruce Wayne and exploring his psyche and I felt they did alot of good characterization here, but I prefer more action and wanted to see more of Batman, but he seemed to be sidelined here.

I nver found Ann Hathway particularly attractive before but she was downright beautiful in this film. She's quite a beauty and she never looked better than here. I thought she did god for what they wanted her to be, but I cant say I particuarly care for this rendition of Catwoman. Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont even think she was ever even called Catwoman in the film. Was the blonde girl with her supposed to be Holly?

I didnt like how easily Batman beat Bane during their second fight whereas he got owned the first time. Didnt quite seem like that should have been the case. He should have given Bane more of a fight the first time instead of having his butt handed to him bc it made little sense how Bane could barely take him on the second time and Im talking even before he had his mask attacked.

I have to say I LOVED the Talia twist towards the end. I hated Miranda.I thought she and Bruce had no chemistry and disliked her as a love interest for him. Didnt like that he slept with her as they just didnt seem to click. I didnt understand why they kept giving such a bland nobody character so much attention. Didnt make sense to me at all till the end when they revealed she was Talia. I HATED the original twist of Bane being Ra's kid. I thoguht that was a stupid way to go even if this is the movieverse and not meant to be a replica of actual canon. The Talia reveal saved it for me

Something that made absolutely no sense to me was where the hell was the US army? The criminals roam free in Gotham with the police underground after an act of terrorism causes the streets to literally explode, yet the President doesnt step in? Why the heck wsnt the army sent in to handle the situation? Its as if Gotham existed as its own country

Another thing was the cops were trapped underground for nearly a month during the winter. How the heck did they manage to survive with no food? In those conditions, you'd expect some to die and most of them at least week, but for the most part, they seemed fine and ready to fight afterbeing released. That was unbelievable to me

I wish they had cast someone else to play Foley. He looked too much like Harvey to me

Batman has a host of high tech weapons and transportation so is heavily funded therefore very rich (reducing search to someone in the 1%)

Funding /= Rich, no more than a soldier in the Army is rich just because he drives a tank. Well, he's in possession of million dollar equipment, therefore he MUST have purchased it himself. :whatever: Most people would naturally assume that Batman is someone who's funded by outside sources as opposed to himself being a millionaire, because it'd be ludicrous to think that any millionaire would be the one actually out there putting himself at risk. Sure, someone could deduce that it's Wayne Industries supplying Batman, but that Bruce Wayne himself IS Batman? Rubbish.

C'mon who didn't roll their eyes at that?

I didn't. He had a personal insight few others possessed.

Here's a question for you all. Did Batman break his one rule when he shot the driver of Talia's truck?

It's not fool proof but the logic is a hell of a lot more plausible/believeable than 'I saw your anger'.

I did discover something else that i hope someone can explain to me, Bruce flys the bat with the bomb and it explodes, for us to then find out from Fox et al that Bruce had fixed the autopilot. They discover this from the bat itself, so we can rule out that its the Bat that flew the bomb as that is obviously destroyed. So its another prototype, held in the armory..but then why didn't Bane take that with the other vehicles. My only guess is that Bruce moved the Bat(s) to the cave fixed them and returned them in his will, although how the people with Fox could then not figure out who Batman was and where he got his equipment from is a bit in your face.

Is there a convincing explanation for how Batman survived the explosion? It looked very much like he was still in the Bat with 5 seconds to go?

How so? Did he shoot the truck with the bat and kill the driver?

He shot the truck, but the shot didn't kill Talia. The crash killed Talia. Batman just didn't save her. Same concept as in BB. Batman didn't kill Ra's, but he didn't save him.

Edit: I didn't notice you were talking about the driver. I'm not sure how the driver died, but I'm pretty sure Nolan would edit and make sure it wasn't Batman that killed him, at least directly.

Just watched the first Bane/Batman fight scene. What a scene - probably the best in the film and right up there with the best in the trilogy. It has such a haunting feel to it.

I saw it for my 3rd time last night. I'm pretty sure he flew The Bat directly in front of the truck and the shots killed the driver. I'm wondering if breaking his rule was part of the story.

how did the plane survive the nuclear bomb? and wouldnt fox and the scientists be all radioactive?

All you could see was a close-up of Batman's face, and it looked like he was in the pilot's seat. No way to know whether or not there was an ejection system in it, which there most certainly would have been. No way to know in those last 5 seconds if Batman was IN the Bat, or just in the ejected pilot's seat. Obviously it was the latter.

They were in a grey Bat. There was more than one, they all share the same software though. The auto-pilot software was the issue.

I definitely plan to see TDKR a second time, but I do seem to remember that Batman didn't do all that well in the second fight, either.....though enough not to get his back damaged again. He was really only able to get in a few shots when he damaged Bane's mask. Batman didn't "easily beat Bane" the second time around.

It wasn't. I watched closely during my second viewing and the majority of shots were going off near the truck's tires and front bumper. To me, I see that as an indication that Bruce was aiming very carefully for the truck's tires. My interpretation is that he was trying to stop the truck without killing Talia and the driver.

it didn't. that was another prototype. the one that wasn't black. I'm guessing that Bane and Co didn't take it when they raided the armory. maybe it was disabled?

What was Bane doing in that courtroom scene? He looked like he was crafting/making something. It was a bit out of focus and I really didn't get a good look at it.
If he was knitting that would have been right out of a Tale of Two Cities.

Just saw it for the Second time today. Bane's voice is just simply awesome. The accent and electronic vibe to his voice is something i will always imagine when i read the Comics!

Pavel: Nothing! I said nothing!
CIA: Well congratulations. You got yourself caught. Sir? Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Bane: Crashing this plane...with no survivors.

Totally enjoyed how Bane delivered that line :oldrazz:
