One thing is for sure. After Nolan's Bat franchise ends on July 20. The next truly HUGE movie from their side, will be SUUUPERMAN! I imagine that this film will be gigantic! Just like 'Rises'. Seeing Superman reborn from scratch, in all new fashion will be a sight to behold, I have no doubt.

OT: @DarthSkywalker You may want to update your sig :csad:

Back on topic, yeah I can definitely see Superman being WB's next big franchise. For some reason, as much as I love DC, I just can't get on board with a JL movie at all
I can't really explain, I just feel it would fail.

...my fix after Bats will definitly gonna be MoS, hope it turns out good!

That's the theory. There is additional content they have been working on, but they felt there was a market to do a double dip prior to the release of TDKR for numerous reasons. My sources had mentioned potentially adding on the TDKR prologue, but in the end its all about overhead. It's cheaper for WB to just reissue the original blu-rays in a new package and call it good for the time being. There was talk of adding a "coupon" with a code you could enter online to "unlock" the prologue digitally, but that never got off the ground.

Since the steelbooks had previously been released in other markets, this was a nice compromise and a way to generate some BD revenue.

Having said that, my understanding is that the trilogy release will be pretty hefty.

Omg I can't wait to get my hands on the boxset of all 3 films. :awesome:

I get what you are saying and I feel the same.

imagine seeing another Batman would be weird and even seeing Bale's Batman in a JL...maybe if they establish the new Bats and then the rest...I don't know, or maybe they should focus on great solo movies until The Avengers 3 finish so they come with JL, I dont know...

After TDKR, I'm on Team MOS. I hope it spawns a successful series of quality films and makes me fall in love with the character of Superman, same as how I came to love the character of Batman through Nolan's fins.

Not really interested in JL either, even though I enjoyed the old cartoon. I don't think it would work unless they really built it up, and even then it would take a lot of work.

Thanks for that, so he's already answered my question. Stinks that we're probably not going to get the prologue digitally in that case, and yet again the excuse is saving costs just like the lack of 42e or a proper viral. Ah well.

I need to lick my wounds.

There's definitely a conflict of interests and a fork in the road ahead if WB wants to follow Marvel's lead and keep Chris Nolan on board as a producer for the Batman reboot and future Superman films. He's been adamant about those two staying in their own universes.

I don't know...Marvel and DC have a lot of differences. It's not a given that what worked well for one would work for the other. I think the best WB can do is focus on launching the solo franchises with care and see where it goes. Don't pull the trigger on a JL movie until the time feels right and interest is piqued. They can't just rush to catch up with Marvel, that has failure written all over it.

No, they don't. I also favored the Comedian-Night Owl riot, Alley Fight, and Prison scenes very much so. They were executed and shot perfectly.

Every film has several condensed scenes, please.

Hey man, that quote in your sig..

Nolan: "Oh, it's on. Here Emma, hold my vest." wheres that from? I looked into the Garry one and it was hilarious lol.

The triple blu-ray set will be amazing. Imagine if we get a little documentary on Heath? A beautiful casing! Id like a box over a steelcase. I just hope they release it at the same time as the slightly lesser version so I dont end up quadruple dipping lol..from dvd to blu ray to boxset to fancy boxset :woot: cant wait.

Btw...when the hell will WB release a complete regionfree blu-ray of BTAS?!

This. Iv always been interested in Superman but everytime I watch anything to do with him it always seems to get to the "oh no, its kyrptonite...again!" phase lol. I hope hes made weaker tbh so we can have more variety to his stories.

I may get some angry Superman fans on me for that but as a general fan of him thats what turns me way from being a megafan.

WB could do a random JL movie thats totally separate because Superman and Batman are already so well known compared to Ironman, Thor and Cap. It wouldn't need the buildup. My ''normal'' lol friends only knew of Hulk before Marvel started the buildup for Avengers with IM1. Putting Superman and Batman together then introducing the others would be a reverse Marvel idea..less effort..less of a loss if it fails..BUT if the MoS Superman isn't part of it it'll be a long wait, unless two the different Superman story universes idea can be understood by the general audience..which they wont :woot:

Actually, I love that idea...JL movie, Batman and Superman bring in the people, show the rest of the team off. Maybe a standalone Tower of Babel!

That quote came about just recently when it was revealed that David O'Russell put Christopher Nolan in a headlock at a Hollywood party. :funny:

Anyone see SNL this past weekend? Mr. Neeson was looking very Ra's-ey, wasn't he?

I still doubt that story is actually true, it's just so ****ing hilarious to be.. :D

I want to hear the Ra's reference, is it online anywhere? From the UK.

Some SNL sketch I read about with Nic Cage and Liam Neeson, it was said there was a Ra's reference.

Is it just me or does it seem that Man of Steel will be using a few elements from the aborted Superman movie scripts? Supes' suit sounds eerily close to how the suit was supposed to appear in the very end of Tim Burton's rendition of Superman Lives (dark blue, no trunks, blood red cape)... also I'm sure that tornado scene (from this rumored description) was in a prior aborted script where Supes undoes a tornado attacking Smallville.

The suit is most similar to the one from McG and JJ Abrams' Superman: Flyby. The tornado thing is a common element of his various origin retellings in the comics.
