I've got a question for Gil/anyone potentially in the know- what's the status of double screenings for TDK/TDKR back to back? Last Gil mentioned it was in march I think, saying they're deliberating between doing an exclusive deal with AMC, etc, but the likelihood it'd be real IMAX is low.
Just wondering if there's any kind of update as of yet. Gil, you've been supplying info for ages and ages, I've been following your posts on here for years, your contributions to the batman community are amazing.
Best,

March was the last I heard anything of them trying to put something like that together. Nothing else has been thrown at me, so I'd say chances are slim, unless an agreement was made and it's just being kept on the down low for the time being.
This next bit is just an FYI for the posters on this forum...
I know things have been scarce. There's been little to no new content released, and it's a bit disappointing. Even though I'm trying to keep myself away from most spoilers, the effort thus far in the marketing department has been underwhelming to say the least. I've been extremely critical of the campaign they've thrown together thus far and think they've essentially dropped the ball on some really great opportunities.
Having said that, it is important to remember that they have come up with/developed a lot of fantastic ideas that'll never see the light of day. (Remember the GCPD virals I spoke of forever ago? Well, your frame by frame trailer game was supposed to be a big pay off to a much better experience). Sometimes, logistically, for one reason or another, whether its budget restraints, contractual obligations, etc. etc. things just don't work out. It happens. With a monster film like this, and everyone trying to get a piece of the action, it's hard not to stretch yourself out too thin. Sometimes, there's just not enough content, man hours to get the job done.
People like to complain and talk as if they've got the magical answer for this campaign (Hell, I'm one of them), but the truth is, the people who develop this stuff have already explored 99.9% of all the "brilliant" ideas that get thrown around here and elsewhere. If you think you've got the answer, trust me, they've already looked into it, and there's a thousand reasons why it can't or won't be done.
I don't know when the next still of Catwoman will be released. I don't know the exact moment the first TV spot will air so we can all DVR it. I don't entirely know why some of the great ideas they had are going left unused or scratched. But I do know, in today's marketplace, things can get complicated really fast, and things will change at the drop of a hat. It's just the state of media. It's not like it was 10 years ago, where the internet wasn't so prominent, and these things had to be worked out ages and ages in advance on an extremely strict, tight schedule.
I do know that next month (as many have gathered) is the big blitz. You'll get your merch, your action figures, your Pepsi Co tie-in with it's own cool content (via Mtn Dew), TV spots, more magazine/media coverage, and all sorts of material.
It's almost all over. So just enjoy it while you can.
