The Dark Knight Rises The 79th TDKR General Discussion & Speculation Thread

I'll risk being probated for this:

Avengers and TDKR have something unique in common. They're are eventually BOTH about heroes coming together to stop a threat that threatens their existence.

Whilst Avengers is a list of higher name Superheroes TDKR is ultimately about the joining of the heroes of Gotham.

Everything in TDKR is about choice at some point. Batman has to CHOOSE to come back. Selina has to CHOOSE to do the 'right' thing. Gordon has to CHOOSE to continue his cop duties. Blake has to CHOOSE to fight for Gotham. They could all flee and they could all leave Gotham to it's destruction but at the end of the day you have these heroes coming together to fight Bane.

Batman, Gordon, Selina, Blake, Foley They make the tough choice of facing death in the face. Unlike BB or TDK tomorrow at the end of TDKR is not assured, there won't be a second chance at this. They could lose it ALL at the end and these heroes come together to combat this larger than life event.

What makes it so much more potent for me is that Gordon, Selina, Blake and Foley aren't wearing protective armor or have Ninja training. These are NORMAL people riding motorcycles next to huge tanks, one wrong shot and it's all over for them. They're putting their lives on the line and facing near certain death in the face for Gotham and Batman is at their side.

It's going to be emotional.
:hrt: LOVE this post. So true.

I thought we figured out somehow that The Bat has an eject button somewhere and Batman gets catapulted out at the last second. I didn't dream that. I don't think so anyway.

And I'm almost certain the line "But you've given them everything" is when Bats is about to fly the earthquake machine off with the Bat. The scene where she kisses him just before he takes off.

I don't think so because it looks like there's windows of an old building in the background, doesn't match the look of the tunnel. Shot of Gordon is absolutely from that takeoff scene.

Oh that feature is from one of the toys of The Bat. Unsure if it's in the movie

Yeah I think that exchange happened when Bats came back and asked her for help in taking down Bane.

Cinemark Theatres will be selling advance tickets for TDKR starting June 11th.

Is SHH! crashing alot for anyone else? or is it my 8 year old Tesco laptop?

It's the board lag. It's been going on for days, it's infuriating.

2hrs 52 mins!! Fingers crossed.

From Facebook Hype page (so a member on here, don't know who though so apologies)

Here's the whole of the rumor:
the runtime is from a guy who works at an IMAX theater and was explaining to me that there was some talk about putting the film on Two projectors and syncing them up so that you could have a runtime longer than the standard IMAX projector could go for, without having to do a intermission or something.

so essentially TDKR would be packaged as two films. 35MM and IMAX and when combined and synced they'd be TDKR: complete.

The initial confusion on Fandango with being reported as an hour and 52 minutes COULD be from the idea that the 35MM portion of the film is an 1h 52m and an additional 60(+?) minutes of IMAX footage should be packaged with it as well.

Bare in mind this was all just speculation about what could happen and is no way a confirmation

If Batman ejects in the movie as far as he does in that toy video its very likely we'll see him in Hong Kong again :o

you forgot this part:

"Bare in mind this was all just speculation about what could happen and is no way a confirmation"

I wanted to just reaffirm that because that's my post.

I don't want people coming up to me and saying: "YOU LIED" if it doesn't turn out that way.

That actually makes total and complete sense in every aspect.

I'm gonna subscribe to this theory.
