True but they weren't aware of the Teaser Trailer or prologue which was all done 5 months earlier.
That doesn't matter. They now know of the film's existence, and if they're interested, they'll keep tabs on it from here on out (and maybe even go back to see what they've missed). And WB will continue to build off of that in the coming months with more promotional material - including posters, TV spots, and tie-ins.

The marketing of this film is good enough, but I wouldn't say it's the best, either. Especially when compared to TDK.

All the news media and tabloids did TDK's marketing for it though. It's sorta hard to top that.

Are we still talking about marketing. urgh, which means nothing new on the TDKR front. I agree with Travesty. The marketing is just good enough, but not great. I have a feeling the last month before the films release will be mind-blowing! at least thats my hope anyway. Media is still hyping the TDKR, just not as much. Screenings of the movie will be about one month away, and then Conan will continue to be the only one promoting TDKR.

Yeah the marketing is good, but not quite up there with the dark knight, not so in your face.

WB made the best marketing decision ever:

Hey, let's have Marvel advertise Batman FOR us!!

Genius

Why don't we pretend this to be the official 3rd poster?

Thought I'd give my last poster an update since I added rain to the wallpaper version...

well, that fooled me. i didn't see that poster before and i really thought that wb released a new poster.

amazing poster design, by the way.

slllllllloooooooowwwwwwww.....

^

The marketing should kick up once June rolls around. My one quip would be the action in the tv spots. I hope there is more than the trailers just to attract the casual movie-goers.

Hey, DJ, did you hear that WB is going spend their whole marketing budget for a 5 minute preview of MOS? :o

I've already seen it already. :awesome:

There's nothing funnier than fanboys acting like they know something about making a movie.

Especially since they all have a BA in marketing and work at a major movie studio for a major blockbuster sequel to one of the highest grossing films of all time. :awesome:

Oh, yes. WB doesn't have a ****ing clue.

These comments about WB dropping the ball with TDKR's marketing are going to look extremely foolish in a few weeks.

Yup. This always happens anyway.

Because if marketing doesn't kick in two months before a movie, the marketing team doesn't know what they're doing and people on the internet do.

iknorite!?

The trailers with harry potter*, sherlock holmes, and avengers* (* = broke opening weekend record) were so cheap and ineffective!

Roll eyes

the movie is two months away. Do you know a soul who doesn't know it is coming out? No? Didn't think so. The marketing team have more than done their job thus far. When they unload the remainder of their budget in a compact, concentrated, enormous media blitz over the final 6-7 weeks, all of this nonsense will be forgotten. When you cant go anywhere without hearing about or seeing tdkr, which will happen, all will be forgotten.

;) ;) ;)

Well they're in the right. Marvel's business plan is obviously the only way to go. :o

Pee Way speaks the truth.

MIB3 is going to spend more on Will Smith and marketing than it will make...worldwide...:BA
