Sounds to me as if the Bat has been around for a little bit. Probably within the 8 years and Batman stashed it away in the city.

The police chase results in him going in an alley with the Batpod and coming out with it. It would be interesting if he's hiding different things throughout the city over the eight years just in case...

The only reason this looks incredible is because the CAPE IS DRAPING OVER THE SHOULDERS. Unfortunately a shot like this most likely won't make it into the movie just like never did in TDK. Cape fixes everything but Nolan insists making his cape more Superman behind the shoulders instead..

Exactly, it works for Superman but Bale's Batman looks wimpy with the cape behind his shoulders. That was the first thing I noticed about that cover and came to the batboards just to see if anyone else thought that too. Hope it makes it into the movie, but like you said I really doubt it.

Hmmm... Bruce's suit there isn't striped. Maybe that scene and the scenes of them at the manor are not connected afterall with the scene of him being escorted out of WE and him being dropped off at Selina's place by Blake.
