This is the final cut.
This bad boy had been rated by the ratings board for a while now. Roger Nall saw the final cut.
So...3 hours long....

So what's this thing that IMAX can't play more than 3 hours shindig. I've always heard that.
I guess they have two interchangeable projectors or something?
Who is this guy who claims his wife saw the movie? Dragon asked Paul Franklin about it and he said it's "unlikely"

We'll essentially be seeing the rebirth of Wayne, Bane backstory, Selina backstory & Talia backstory. The run time is fine.

3 hours seems slightly indulgent but if the film needs to be 3 hours for Nolan to tell it completely to finish Bruce's story, so be it. It won't break any box office records. People will whine about the length but if this thing really lands at around three hours, then Nolan's going for broke in a big, big way....

God I hope not. I don't want Selina's backstory in any great detail. I've liked the fully formed villains of Ra's and Joker without the need for explanation. I want this one to focus on Bruce. We'll essentially be seeing the rebirth of Wayne, Bane backstory, Selina backstory & Talia backstory. The run time is fine.
How the hell can a running time make a film indulgent!!??!! If the film is three hours long thats because Nolan thinks it should be three hours long to tell this story. I'd rather it be 10 minutes too long than live the theatre and say it was too rushed.
Paul only in charge with VFx. Nothing else. I don't think he knows what's going outside of that.

I love how each Nolan Batman film becomes longer than the previous one.
The runtime rises!!

The IMAX film is on platters. A regualr IMAX projector can go on for as long as it can, but the limitations are on the platters. As of right now, IMAX can only handle up to 2hr and 50min worth of footage. Unless they're going to be using all new platters that haven't been used before, than the only way to get to over the 2:50 mark is to use digital IMAX, which can go over the regular restrictions.Unlike normal 35mm projectors where you can keep switching out reels with multiple projectors primed and ready, an IMAX film projection system can take up three floors of space with the strip of film spanning long distances. The loading is a big operation unto itself unlike multiple reels/plates and it's mostly (as far as I know) one main projector. So there's generally a maximum length that the film could be and still fit into that system's setup.

Not official, but Nolan always does things early, remember? It's locked? Wow.![]()

Yes...but it would be counter to Nolan's MO. In 2008, by the time Wally spoke at Cine Gear Expo in mid-June, they were already midway through printing the reels. He even finished Inception like, 2 weeks early.Ideally, yes you have to lock picture before sound design/mix and coloring...especially if you're working off of numerous reels. Not to say last-minute changes don't happen especially if a studio decides to 'step in', but it happens with the understanding and responsibility of a domino-effect of extra costs and overtime hours to still make a deadline.
3 hours is really long, and even TDk felt too long by a bit. But bring it on anyway...it should be fun.

But didn't he just spend a bunch of time with Nolan and crew in LA? If they were showing a screening of the film today, you'd think that would have come up and he'd know about it.Paul is only in charge with VFx. Nothing else. I don't think he knows what's going on outside of that.
