What's with you guys? Marketing for movies shouldn't be thrown at our faces at the last minute.. yes, waiting until June to start pushing the film is last minute. There should be a nice, steady flow of images, press releases, articles over the course of a few months leading up to the film. We still haven't gotten an official plot synopsis, we still haven't gotten a third poster, we barely have 12 images from the film. Enough with the, "there's still plenty of time!" talk. A synopsis should have been released months ago and the third poster with the third trailer. Every interview is the same story, "Bane is big and bad! This is the last Batman movie! Chris Nolan wants everything to come full circle!" We all get that, that's telling us nothing about our most anticipated movie. Them throwing pictures, tv spots, posters in our face in June is going to be overwhelming.
Dude... the Avengers is still on fire right now. There is a TDKR trailer right in front of it. Why in the world would WB waste money marketing something that is already getting FREE publicity from a rival studio?
A nice steady flow of images for months and months is definitely not the way to go. With a summer as big as this one, that would be wasted effort. An onslaught of TDKR marketing will work out great, especially since the only 'competition' in July is Spidey... and needless to say, Spidey = Ant, er, spider...Bats= Boot.
