I would also like a comedy director to direct like Edgar Wright and I hope they get some influence from the Silver Age.

Edgar Wright is one of my favorites, and I'd take him over Lord and Miller here. The thing is, I just don't think he'd do it. If he couldn't handle the Marvel situation, who championed him for years, no way he'd bow to WB studio demands.

We're kinda going in circles, mate. I guess I didn't express myself quite clearly. Let me put it this way - the shake-up at WB that happened in the midst of planning this film was a big change, so you could say that it isn't normal in the sense that it makes a rather unique and exceptional situation, but this thing with Famuyiwa happening right now as a result of that shake-up and its course-correction makes sense to me. That is why I don't view it as such a huge deal, since I basically view Grahame-Smith's "Flash" project and Famuyiwa's "Flash" project as two separate things, considering the change of people in charge in the meantime.
But:

What direction do you guys think the Flash movie should take?
If I had my druthers (that's how you spell it right?) there wouldnt even be a damn Barry Allen movie...or TV show. The point is it's stupid to have 2 Barry Allen's when you have Wally West right there to tell a different type of origin story. Especially when, and it could just be nonsense I've read online, that DCEU Flash is going to tackle some Flashpoint esque storylines eventually when TV Flash is already doing it. What is the point of having 2 guys playing the same character and doing the same storylines

...I'm honestly just salty Wally has been pushed to the side

I think I just fell for you Blackman. :funny:

WB's so-called 'course correction' just reminds of the complete 180 they did after Batman Returns. Nothing good's going to come from it, because they still. Don't Get It. As much as I love Marvel I want DC to do well. A competitive Market is good for the genre, it brings out the best. Right now the DCEU is a trainwreck.

Agreed

From the things seen and heard in last few months, it seems to me that Johns has much more power than Sneider implies here. I could be wrong, of course, but in any case I don't take these reports as fact.

That is the thing. They are continuing the practices that got them into this situation in the first place almost 30 years ago.

It's crazy to me reading some of the reactions, it doesn't seem like some people know that they can like the DCEU and still criticize certain aspects of it. I dont get how some people are just like: "Yeah this doesn't mean anything"

Who said "this doesnt mean anything"? I actually said that the timing of this sucks and this probably means the film gets delayed. Why are you making strawman arguments? I am yet to see a person who claims there is NOTHIGN wrong with this scenario. I dont know if you are talking about me, because if you are you are grossly misquoting me.

at this point, just let everyone believe what they want to believe. I'm sure the details will come out sooner or later.

But as of right now, any movie losing 2 directors in the span of 7 months is not something that is going to inspire confidence. This doesn't mean the movie is a lock to suck, but its just not a good look.

not to put anyone on blast, but heres an example from the JL thread

Well, Tim Miller leaving was crushing news for me, since I really enjoyed an actual movie made by him, Famuyiwa didn't impress me much, so good luck to him, bring someone else. I don't see what damage WB needs to control in this case... There's no damage.

But honestly I can go on for at least an hour on why not using Wally in the TV show or movie is a colossal missed opportunity
Wally is my favorite Flash, and one of my favorite superhero's period, so I could listen to you go on for as long as you wanted. I never thought about how having both the TV series and the movies makes it even worse they aren't using him to lead one of them.

Didnt see anyone like that on this thread. And OOB just said that because he doesnt like Rick's work. Its not as if he is some uber defender of DCEU, he gave SS a 3/10 XD

Who the hell is he and why is he an authority on whats happening BTS in WB? Genuine question.
He works at TheWrap. One of the genuine Hollywood trades, like the Hollywood Reporter and Variety, that only speak with actual knowledge of these situations. They don't guess, they know.

Doesnt El-Mayimbe work at the wrap as well?

You point me to a report from THR or Varitety or Wrap that covers this and you have a point. I aint gonna believe a journo who has a history of hating dceu movies spouting whatever he feels like on his twitter feed, and take that as cold hard facts. Ofcourse it might be true, but color me sceptical.

You went from not knowing who he is, to claiming he has a history of hating the DCEU. And that isn't bias how exactly?
