I think Avi Arad or someone mentioned how much they liked the Lizard and that he was the first villain in the 90's animated show.

Hasn't that plot device always been one of the lizard's things? I haven't read many issues with the lizard in them so I may be wrong which is why I'm asking so hopefully someone has an answer

Avi..he worked on that show and came up with a lot of the stories. He's really been in the spider-man business for a long long long time

See, here's the thing, lol it WAS good fan service IN THEORY..I can decide it'd be cool to put any popular character in a movie like this but as with everything else, it's about the execution. As much crap as people on this board give Avi, he's had a hand in everything spider-man related since the 90s, good and bad, including Spectacular Spider-Man, which most of us here love. Not being a cheerleader for the dude because he's clearly made some creative mistakes but he should get props too
