Age of Ultron The Avengers 2! The Official News and Speculation Thread - - - - Part 50

I've only watched one trailer, and thats all I want to see. I want to experience everything in theaters. I kinda wish they would have kept Vision a secret tbh. Imagine sitting in a theater having him in it when you weren't expecting it.

I did that and all I have to say is that Age of Ultron is one of the best superhero films I've ever seen. It sucks that some pretty bad stuff happened yesterday and I was unable to watch the movie again, but I'll get to that in the upcoming weeks.

I know it's too early to tell, but I have a gut feeling that Grace Randolph will hate this movie.

Though I'm not a fan of the BW/Hulk romance either, she's likely to never let that go.

You know I think after seeing AoU, I might stop following production of films. I like discussing the films and stuff, but it always gets me overly excited for the prospects of the film and what I'd like to see in there and it never lives up to expectations bar TWS, which I didn't really follow as much as AoU.

I listen to cast interviews and see pictures and analyse trailers and I think of what might happen and yeah the films don't live up to that.

Maybe if I just sat back and let the director tell me there story I'd like it a hell of a lot better, than sitting there and going 'oh man I thought this was going to happen, where's that bit, I wouldn't have done that'

Who knows if I was old enough and the internet was around for Empire god knows I might have had my own vision for the film which might have made me like my favorite film of all time a lot less.

I completely get what you're saying. In this case, at least, I think being jaded is actually a good thing. I've heard all the hype, watched the trailers, etc. and I know I'm going to like it. (And here's where the jaded part comes in) I just don't expect it to be fireworks on the 3rd of July. I know I'm going to see an interesting movie with characters I like. It's going to be a lot of fun, but I don't expect the greatest CM movie I've ever seen.

The one CM movie that really surprised me was GotG. I saw the trailers leading up to it and got more and more excited about it, but liked the movie way more than I expected I would. So, that's the thing about being jaded; you can only be surprised in a good way.

I watched TWS again last night as a lead up to AoU and think I caught something I missed in my earlier viewings. When they had that bald dude on the roof that they rescued early in the film, he was giving them a list of people that Hydra feared or had concerns about or some such thing. Did he say "Stephen Strange"? If he did, I can't believe I missed that earlier. What do we know about him at this point (except brilliant surgeon and the general origin story)?

Yes, Stephen Strange was indeed one the names mentioned by that Hydra double agent.

I'm assuming TWS took place prior to the transformation of Stephen Strange??? If so, why would some arrogant doctor be on their watchlist? Maybe the events of him becoming a sorcerer go back much further than I was thinking. That might even be a really good way to do his origin story. It opens with Dr. Strange in some kind of battle and afterwards, he reminises about how he got where he is.....

If that's the case, he could have at least taken out a few of the Chitauri or sent Ultron to some alternate universe or something..... :cwink:

Stretch run week for anyone in the US! :D Thursday can't get here soon enough!

Friday AM for me, but, yeah.....couldn't agree more. These guys at the TCL Chinese Theater are just killin' me. I've been trying to find out when the show will start on Friday and they are only offering online tickets up to the day after tomorrow (Wednesday). PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT SO I CAN BUY MY TICKET!!!!! I'M DYIN' OUT HERE.....

:vln:

EDIT: You know they say "A watched pot never boils"? Well I say "A watched TCL Chinese IMAX Theater Showtimes webpage is never updated to include 5/1". Perhaps a little less thought provoking, but true nevertheless.....

The Insight algorithm is suppose to pre-target threats before they even become threats, so it probably viewed Strange as a potential threat to Hydra.

Project Insight had about 20 MILLION people on its hit list. Just like all the other normal people on the list, Strange is someone who was predicted to be a problem for Hydra's new order. You don't need to be powered person to be in that catagory.

Thanks to you both for the "insight". I still think that would be a cool way to open the Dr. Strange movie. Good thing that guy didn't have to go through the entire list of people, that might have slowed down the pacing for TWS.

Well I just had a major plot point spoiled for me in this forum. Which is gonna ruin a big part of my experience on Friday.

Im so PO'd right now. I have to just try not to write every swear in the book.

RDJ said on Kimmel that Scarlett was "knocked up" during filming. That is probably more insulting than calling a fictional character a s**t. But Scarlett knew he was joking and didn't have a problem with it.

I think people just need to take it easy with this sort of thing. Good grief, go back and listen to some of the stuff that Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin used to say to each other in interviews that were obviously edited out.

^^ The Avengers cast are like family and they all mess with each other constantly Im sure. Plus, they werent calling Scarls a sl*t, they were calling BW one, so its not worth getting upset about.

Was that in a non spoiler thread? I'd report the post if it was. I'm so sick of people not using spoiler tags and then saying "what's the big deal?" I know the mods are probably overwhelmed at this point, but a lot of posters clearly have no respect for the rules on the boards. I even had someone question me when I told them to use spoiler tags saying it wasn't a big deal. And back when IM3 came out I asked someone to use spoiler tags, and they told me I'm not a mod and that they can discuss the movie however they want to.

This is becoming more of a common occurrence with releases being split when they used to do global premiers.

People are way too sensitive. Must be exhausting.

I recommend that easily offended people should only watch Teletubbies, because that's probably the only thing they're mentally prepared for in the real world. That show is nothing but sunshine and nonsensical jabbering (so there is no dialogue to offend anyone, of course).

:whatever:

Tony: It was in a regular thread and a major spoiler.

The hype intensifies. :wow: Sorry you couldn't re-watch it yesterday. Hopefully everything turns out alright.

I'd definitely report it then. I'm going to send a quick message to Lee to see if the mods can keep an extra heads up for this kind of thing. I know the mods do the best they can with this, but IMO until people start getting vacation time they are going to keep doing this. People ought to know better than to put in major untagged spoilers in a thread especially a normal thread. You're technically even supposed to tag them in the spoiler threads, but I've done my best to stay the heck out of that thread, until I see the film.
