Holy mother of god that tv spot....ok at the very least I know the action in this film will be the best of any CBM to date.

I don't mind the front but, in 3d, I'd rather be upper middle for some reason

Me too (edit...mighta misunderstood what you meant by upper)....and when I say "upper" I really mean upper. When I go to the Cinemark XD (87' screen), I sit in the 3rd row center. The screen fills my entire field of vision and it's like "BLAM TAKE THAT!!" (which I gladly do).

My 10AM showing tomorrow at the TCL Chinese (96' screen) is row 6 just off center as they have an aisle going towards the screen between the two sections in the front of the theater. I'm in the first seat near the aisle. I can't wait to see if the new IMAX projection system is all they say it is. IMAX remastered the picture for the new projector (even though there are only two of them in production in the world....which seems like a lot of work for two screens, but maybe it's not that much different than the film IMAX remastering???) and added 6 channels of sound. Finally, my wait is almost over and I get to see it with the new PJ. I hope it blows me out of my seat.

I wouldn't wait two weeks for God if s/he couldn't make it tomorrow, but would gladly go with later. :jd:

Right? This area I'm in is Walmart's home office area. They've screened movies here, there's a CGI house in the county, Disney/Marvel are here OFTEN and there's even a new Film Festival starting here but NO IMAX.

In THIS town alone, we have TWO 12 theater Multiplexes! I don't understand why there's no Imax screens

I live in Hampton Roads,VA and we have University that has a legit film school. The only major movie that filmed around here was Mission Impossible 3 for that bridge scene. We have TWO IMAX screens lol. The one I am going to tonight is in an AMC theater near a popular shopping mall which is like a 20-25 min drive for me. The second IMAX screen is located in an air and space museum and that's about a 45-50 min drive for me.

How would those who've seen the movie rank the action sequences against other MCU films?

I just pulled a photo (attached) of the TCL Chinese from their website. I was there a long time ago, but didn't remember how ornate it was. My seat is pointed out in blue. I know, everyone thinks I'm :loco:

On hand to hand combat, WS still takes the cake. But overall action sequences are the best in the MCU.

I think the action is great however at times somewhat hard to follow, at least at parts in one battle. It's definitely a step up from the first Avengers and most of the other MCU films, however as TeeKay says, Winter Soldier still takes the cake.

None of the other films compare on action alone. It might be a bit over the top or hard to follow for some, but otherwise they blow away the first Avengers which blows away most of the solos.

There are two action scenes that are hard to follow but only because there are six different characters on screen doing different things.

Cool. Then just watch it 6 times......

^^ Sounds good to me! I expected it to be better. Someone just said seeing it a couple times might also help since theres so much going on. After you watch a movie 4 or 5 times it definitely is easier to get into for me.

Is there anything The Winter Soldier movie doesn't get right? Its hands down my favorite Marvel movie. Although that might change this weekend.

There is exactly one theater in my city. One. Its basically a monopoly. Ticket prices range from 12 to 14 dollars, and thats without 3d. To make things worse, its so trash. You can constantly hear the other movies and its always a mess. I hate Regal.

TA and GotG were my 2 favorite followed closely by TWS and maybe IM1. Also really liked Thor, but that may be because he's my favorite character. Being introduced to Asgard was awesome. I liked the off beat tone of GotG. A little more irreverent and playful. I found it to be a nice change of pace.

Time to take a weekend vacation in another city......

That's such a rip. The Cinemark XD theater at the Howard Hughes Center near LAX has a ton of competition locally and it's XD 3D prices for AoU matinees is $9.65 for students, seniors, children and $12.15 for early bird matinees. It has an 87' screen and the 3D uses dual 4K Barco projectors so it's plenty bright.

That sucks dude. If a new cinema moved in, they'd change their tune pretty quickly. I hate it when people do stuff like that because.....they can.....:cmad:

My top 5 Marvel movies:
The Winter Soldier
Iron Man
The Avengers
Guardians of The Galaxy
The first Avenger

The Cap franchise is becoming one of my favorites. Hopefully Age of Ultron will make this list.

We're pretty close. Thor and TFA were pretty close for me, but gave the edge to Thor/Asgard. Some points off for Jane Foster, but actually liked Kat Dennings in the first one (Not so much the second, but those scenes weren't her fault. They just shouldn't have been done.)

This is definitely the best so far for action. The action scenes are basically comic book pages come to life, it's amazing!
