Action-Adventure The 'Back To The Future' Appreciation Thread - Part 2

This is the only franchise from my youth that hasn't been tainted with bad sequels. It's still pristine. Let's keep it that way.

As long as Bob Gale and Bob Zemeckis are still alive, it will remain 3 movies.

Yeap. And the minute Disney can, they will make a sequel featuring Marty’s grandkids for Disney+ where the protagonist is bullied kid who discovers Doc’s plans and makes a time machine out of his smartphone or something equally stupid.

I can easily see that with Michael J Fox coming back as Marty for Disney Plus reboot for Back to the Future and casting whoever as his grandchildren with Elisabeth Shue playing his love interest Jennifer again

If they do it, I think it would be a revival of the animated series, with Lloyd voicing Doc like he did in the original animated series, co-produced by Gale and Zemeckis. That's the route I see them going with a series if they do it: a revival of the animated series from the 90's with the two creatives involved. They might get Fox back as Marty depending on how he is from a health standpoint.

Having said that, the only thing I remember from the series was the science experiments at the end, narrated by Lloyd as Doc but performed by Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Christopher Lloyd didn't voice Doc Brown on the animated series. Doc was actually voiced by 'Homer Simpson' himself Dan Castleneta!

That's why I don't remember much about the series. I remember though that Lloyd narrated the science experiments while Bill Nye conducted them.

I pretty much wore put my VHS tapes growing up. This was the trilogy that I was obsessed with and watched over and over again.

Since he started doing live experiments on the Back to the Future Animated Show, if that did not happen would this still have happened?

I still consider The Game to be the unofficial Part IV due to the involvement of Gale and some of the original actors. Gale considers an alternate continuity, but it fits in with the original trilogy incredibly well and the basic story of Marty going back to 1931 and seeing Doc as a teenager and exploring what would happen if he didn't get into science is a good one.

I just recently watched the Josh Gates/Christopher Lloyd four part special from last year where they look at the DeLoreans used in the films. That was fun.

well it took a few months but I was able to get one of the Lego Delorean sets online for MSRP, but with shipping and tax it was a little over 200, but since most were like 230 and up before shipping and they had the balls to charge 20 or more to ship it ugh. and a few weeks ago I got the trilogy in 4K for 30 bucks, I am one HAPPY BTTF fan!

well I got my Lego Delorean I cannot wait to build it I plan on placing it among my other BTTF collectibles when it is built.

I got that for cheap a few weeks ago but have not had the chance to watch them the blu rays look fantastic I am hoping the 4K looks as good or better.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this the first reunion with Tom Wilson in a long time? Was it that he swore off conventions as Biff because he wanted to move on?

Whatever the reason for the return, that’s amazing to see! Maybe hell will freeze over and Crispin Glover will show up one day lol
