It would be hilarious if the real thing was identical to the manip, and they did indeed base some of the cowl geometry directly on the Origins one just because they liked it.

This was the "leaked" pic of its day and had come out at a time when 'something' was imminent. It predated frankenbat, blurryman, and the BOF sketch and for a while it got everyone crazy... not that something like this would get us all worked up these days

That's the one! Clearly based in part on a Schumaker suit. And yeah the cowl isn't bad. But the emblem is horrible and ridiculously fake. I don't remember being fooled by this for a minute.

And then followed the banings. My god the banings. Even to mention frankenbat or blurryman would get you probation. I thought about posting these with the Raimi fake... but I didn't know the statute of limitations on them and I didn't want to get banned or put on probation

I think I'm probably safe. I do remember I recomposited them with the clearer parts of Frankenbat flipped around and placed in the right place on Blurryman but I can't find it.

Funny how early Begins art (including promotional art) had very subtle differences in the suit design that made it look significantly better.

Yeah but part of the definition of a leak is that it happens when you don't want it to. OF COURSE if that pic had been real it wouldn't have been the way WB would have wanted us to first see it, but a leak is a leak and there's nothing you can do if it happens.

The first look we got of the Begins suit WAS from a leak that WB definitely wouldn't have wanted us to see. It was a blurry pic of a maquette that had bale's face photoshopped into it. We also saw accurate pencil drawings clearly based on a photo of the suit before we ever got a real look at the suit.

Sometimes leaks happen. Otherwise there wouldn't be a word for them.

I was under the impression that there were no such things as "leaks" and whenever something "leaked" is actually legit, it's because the studio allowed/was behind it.

So nothing has ever really leaked, ever? Everything that ever gets out is at the studio's will? Of course things get leaked, in the true sense of the word. Do you think WB wanted the Batman Begins script to be out for everyone to download months before the movie came out? That happened too.

Quentin Tarantino abandoned an entire film recently because the script leaked.

When a studio wants to release something they'll do it through Empire magazine or USA Today or whatever official channel they chose. And security is definitely tighter these days so real leaks happen less.

Yeah, you guys are right I suppose. I just have a hard time trusting any leaked things. Especially for such a high profile, safely guarded property like Batman/Superman. I believe the first time we see Snyder's Batsuit will be when he wants us to.
