I am a firm believer that we will see pics of the "Batsuit" prior to them filming.. Not sure if it will be a glorious reveal of the entire suit? Or a tease of a partial shot so we get an idea of the design, and the source material that their inspiration was based off? These films ALWAYS show something before the camera phones have a chance to exploit the costumes these days.. But knowing the release date is so far away? It will be interesting to say the least.

Actually, we've got a lot of first looks at the marvel costumes from location shooting in recent times. The Avengers 2 Cap suit and Thor 2 suits to name a couple.

Not saying it's likely, but sometimes the first look IS a spy pic. I doubt that will be the case for Batman though.

Right, but those differences are between Whedon/Marvel's approach and Snyder/Nolan/WB/DC's approach. Although Nolan isn't really "driving that bus" anymore, Snyder also has a thing for releasing pictures on his terms before some fool with a phone gets 'em.

minus the bat-pox and the bat-diaper and it's not too bad... The heavy Arkham style gauntlets and boots would probably be refined down a bit in his later years too I'd think, with experience and better tech helping him down the road.

OK, here is the rumors that I have heard.

1. It is Jim Lee based (probably New 52).

2. It is Noel based.

3. It will have short ears.

4. It might have this symbol.

Now, how to combine the best of the above to get a good costume? Lets try to focus on what it can be (if these rumors are true). He probably won't be super muscular (judging by how slow Ben has been bulking, if he is at all).


So, any ideas?


P.S.what I outlined above is exactly what I don't want. If I was making a movie I would make a costume like this.

Shame it will never happen. :'(

It's been a while since I posted a pic... I'm over due! I like this suit enough... it's not what I'd consider a dream suit, but I would certainly consider it better than what we've seen on screen so far...

Got lazy and didn't make a background for it, but hey what'd'ya gonna do!

IMO, this suit sucks (not because of your photoshopping skills). It looks like he doesn't have clavicles and has a flat chest/torso with huge arms. Also his elbows end way too high up. Looks stupid.

This would be a welcomed suit (minus the the dots or whatever they are). Maybe tone down the gauntlets and boots a little then it'd be absolutely perfect in my opinion.

Of course it would be awesome other than the fact that the chest looks horrible (not the bat symbol, the actual chest). It looks flat/ weird near the cape. Fix that and it would be much better (as well as the elbows inserting so high).

Edit: It is ok, but it still needs some work.

they revealed the cavill pic a couple of days before they started principle photography. if we get it it'll be around the time they start shooting since we're sure to get some snaps of the costumes on site. if they save the reveal for comic con, i'd hazard to say we wouldn't get much more than that regarding anything dccu related.

That's not quite right.

They revealed it a day or two before they started shooting exteriors with him in the suit (on Kent Farm, then the next couple of days for the Smallville battle), but they'd shot stuff before then (The tornado/car scenes, I believe).

So just because filming begins on the 19th of May, we may not get anything for a couple for weeks after that...

Am I the only one that thinks Ben's actual fitness and the look of him with the suit on will be different? I realize that Henry looked pretty darn fit with his shirt off in "MOS", but there WAS I muscle suit underneath his "S" outfit. Perhaps they plan on doing the same thing for Ben? Just slightly more compensating ... As for that list above? I am all for it.. Love the idea of Black and Grey, short ears, and that chest emblem. Bulk the Bat up a bit with a muscle suit and I will be a happy camper.

He will probably have some sort of padded muscle suit underneath, and I'd be okay with that as long as it's not too different from his actual figure. Henry's suit was obviously padded too, but it doesn't look too weird because we can see in other scenes that he's still a huge guy.

Every modern cloth-type superhero suit in movies has had padding, no matter how fit the guy was. It's just the norm.

It won't have that symbol. It'll almost certainly have that symbol *without* the "fat tail" part, which is only the way it is because it's made up of the bottom of Superman's S shield.

Nah, I dig the fat tail. I also like how Pre 52 said 'probably have this logo' despite the fact that that's the only thing we can reasonably assume.

I don't mind that logo, but I wouldn't mind if we got a modified version of it as the official one.

A less blocky version of that symbol would be cool, actually. They redesigned the Super-S to make it unique to the movieverse, I think the same should be done to the Bat symbol. I think that symbol's distinctive enough to represent not only Batman but Batfleck in particular.

I have faith Snyder's going with grey/black for the Batsuit; now if he does 'puzzle plating' armor or any of that other stuff, dunno...but my money's on grey & black.

Snyder knows suits and he knows comics...Watchmen, MoS, 300. I have faith we're getting grey/black; I'd still like to see some tech in his gauntlets like the Arkham games, too.

Three things I want from the suit:

1. Short ears
2. Big Frank Miller Style symbol (more the size as opposed to the shape)
3. Black and grey

Not really bothered by anything else. I don't like trunks on superheroes, but it wont bother me if Batman has them.

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

I'm ready to see this suit already. Hoping for black and grey. Part of me wonders if the mask will have to cover his chin. The most famous rich man in Gotham has a pretty identifiable butt-chin.
