I may be in the rarity here, but I enjoyed that sense of Batman existing in a normal city. It made me feel like I could go downtown and potentially see him perched on the edge of a tall building.

I found it really distracting in TDKR more than anything but that maybe because I live in NYC now and lived in Pittsburgh for years so everything was recognizable.

However, I'm not sure the NYC signs in the background helped much in creating the illusion...

Haha. That would be strange.

My gripe with TDKR locations/scenery was it just felt very inconsistent with BB and TDK.

Both TDK & TDKR felt entirely inconsistent with BB's Gotham IMO. They went to great lengths to establish Gotham as the deserving character in the story of batman that it is, then threw all of it out the window in the sequels...they got sloppy/lazy with the city after BB.

I love BB's hyper-inflated 'real' city with the Narrows, trains, etc., but after BB it's just "meh". My big gripe about the Metropolis of the Donner Supes films is the same..."here's New-York-o-tropolis".

How dare you say such negative things about TDK!

Seriously though, I agree they did undercut several things from BB.

do you think the first official pic will have a pose like this?

I think that too. But I meant of the trinity. :)

I kinda like these designs they didn't use for Batman Returns...

I agree. And I know it's only grey since they were still sculpting it, but it would have actually looked bada$$ if the actual bodysuit was a bit darker grey than what it look like in that picture. It would have been a complete departure from the suit in the original film, but would have looked so cool!

Here is the BR sculpture image I used:

and here is my updated manip of my previous Cap2 suit version:

I still like the Cap2 suit look more, but this does have a more classic batman comic feel.

Just did this pretty quickly so it's not the best. Nevertheless, I believe in Batfleck.

Curve that nose a little bit downward into more of a beak and you've got a winner.

^ I say cover the bottom of the nose completely. At least for when you seem him from the front and sides. I've never liked it sticking out the bottom. It looks like he ****ed up fitting it.

I prefer it to be uncovered, as it prevents Batman seeming like a mouth breathing loon.

no, that daredevil manip on the bottom of the previous page is close to being good, but the nose piece definitely doesn't come down low enough

I think they will go with something close to the New 52 Bat-Suit in MOS2.

I've always hated the jump-cut in that bit. Should have been a single shot. Emblematic of Nolan's over-editing.

I've actually always loved that edit. It was almost certainly NOT a case of "over editing," but rather an intentional edit to create a desired effect.

Cool.

I'm really hoping the new suit doesn't have muscle sculpting on the outside. I want to see a functional suit that makes sense and is tactically sound. Along with the batmobile. I think the tumbler made the most sense on getting around anywhere. Batman needs a vehicle that can go off road if it needs to.

That looks better but the ears aren't long enough.

I really like Sejic's BMW design. That's why I used it here.
