Just take a few minutes to reflect on how silly that view really is. :funny:

Not a fan of the over-designed cowls to be honest.

Well then educate me smartass! Apparently I'm missing something.
Sorry, wasn't meaning to sound rude.

Is it your contention that Captain America looks fine on the left and ridiculous on the right?

What I am driving at is that there is nothing inherently wrong with the colour blue. It occurs in the real world, and is all around us. With that said, how can the same item, rendered the same colour, be fine in one medium and not in the other? That view is ridden with logical holes, to me.

I agree, it was one of the reasons I really like the TDK cowl, very simple, great shape and just looked like batman to me.

The TDK(R) cowl, in my view, was a bulbous, awkward, block of rubber. It was oversized and Bale couldn't breath through his nose while wearing it.

Really? I can see that in the Begins cowl, with the giant neck. but the TDK Cowl seem proportionately correct with the neck. I like, but to each his own.

No worries. :yay:

Blue is Captain America's primary colors and he doesn't lurk in the shadows. Whereas black/grey is Batman's. I mean more often than not, Batman is in black or grey. Plus if Batman is supposed to be a creature of the night and use shadows to his advantage, black or dark grey would make more sense. If you asked 100 random people what color Batman's suit is, I'd bet that 90% of those people would say black. Granted The Dark Knight trilogy is still fresh in everyone's minds. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with blue, it's just wrong for Batman in live action.

Fair enough, but I anticipate that seeing it in use might change a lot of people's minds.

I prefer to see the black-and-grey suit in live-action. It was always my favorite bat suit.

Navy Blue is far more effective at hiding at night, assuming it's outside, while black sticks out. Indoors it depends on what type of environment he's hiding in, so unless he's in pitch black as opposed to shadows blue is more logically sound.

I would like to see the magpie blue that regwec described, however.

I very much doubt blue will be used, but if it were, I'd like to see a midnight blue.

Ehh....I agree Navy Blue more effective, especially at dawn-time, also given that our night sky is actually a very very dark blue, we just percieve it as black. But black doesn't neccesarily stand out more, it depends on the setting. Black would be better indoors, navy blue outdoors.

I do hope we get to see a more grey suit this time though.

I'm thinking about what was said about Snyder trying to make the Superman trunks work. It didn't fit his world. I'm wondering what we can take away from that about Batman.

He probably won't be wearing trunks.

yeah batman won't be wearing trunks, and it wouldn't make sense for him too either. If it doesnt fit Supermans world than no way will it fit Batmans.

He probably won't be wearing trunks.

Haha. A safe deduction. I'm not sure if we'll get grey. Since darker colors would probably be better camouflage at night, could we see another fully black Bats?

That is not how it looked in TDK, they fixed the issue somewhat in TDKR (which I really don't understand, they should have fixed it in TDK to begin with.)

I think the blue just looks good, and it blocks better against the grey than the black, because both the blue and the grey can be distinguished while retaining the same shade.

in live action, I think it should be rendered as a king of "magpie blue". It would appear black in the relative darkness, but with blue accents where it is caught by artificial light. Under bright light (say, police searchlights) it would appear mid-blue.

I see what you're saying. I think that would be a welcome change. Can you show more pics of exactly what magpie blue would look like in real life?

I think this pic of the TDK suit kind of gives a blue accent with certain lighting. Is it really different from what you're talking about?

Yeah, it is different. The blue there is the standard blue light that all night scenes have. A magpie's feathers are a really deep blackish blue, which look rich blue when direct light hits them.

I wouldn't read too much into it and, as discussed a few inches above, black is not better camouflage than grey/other colours.

for the new Batman suit I'd really like something that is flexible....easy to move in. For the cowl I'd like to see the white lenses in the eyes and prominent ears. Something that is able to be pulled off the head and lay on his shoulders/back while still keeping the shape of his head if that makes any sense...I guess what I would like is a sculpted helmet type cowl with a really flexible material connecting it to the rest of the suit so he can pull it off and let it hang

It has nothing to do with people being used to seeing blue and has to do with people WANTING to see the blue.

I'm in this camp. It's more of a preference as well. I like the grey and blue fine at the times where he is in the comics but I'd much prefer black (with the grey this time) But I can't say that it wouldn't work because we haven't seen it yet.

This is a pic from TDK, this is exactly how it looked.

What do people think of something along the lines of Daredevil's movie suit? I always thought something like that could work for Batman.
