Okay. I thought he said "if they find out he's here".

Either way, just because they are there in that mid credit scene doesn't mean they will still be there (other than Buckysicle) when we see them again.

I'm pretty sure they said he's here not we're here

Just got out of my second viewing. He says if they find out he's here.
Also I haven't seen reactions like this since the Avengers! The audience clapped many times during the movie and not just a few but like half of a sold out crowd.
They clapped:
After Peter Parker and Tony's first talk
Spideys official intro
Giant man
Falcon and buckys reaction to cap and Sharon's kiss

Say that Team Cap hadn't ran into Team Iron Man and had gone on to fight the "psycho assassins", like Scott and Clint were recruited to do. Think Team Cap could've taken down those 6 beefed up Winter Soldiers?

Without question.

Hell, Wanda could've handled them singlehanded.

Wish my audience was as reactive as your guys'. When I saw the Avengers the crowd must have applauded a dozen times, but only at the credit roll for this. Maybe tomorrow night.

My audience at the second showing was during the day with a lot of families so a lot of the more subtle jabs went over their heads, as the kids whined whenever there was lack of action.

This kid sitting next to me fell asleep.

I swear man, this generation...

I cheered when Panther first showed up in-costume and the guy next to me looked at me like I was crazy. :(

Yeah, when she started making it rain cars on War Machine, that's when you knew she wasn't ****ing around.

Also kind of upset no one died. Rhodes dying would have been a great way to show how out of control the heroes are and how there actions carrying weight even amongst themselves.

I think the writers did a good job giving reason as to why they didn't kill anyone off. But, I thought about this recently the MCU is getting packed with heroes :funny: especially now with the introduction of Ant-Man, Wasp (soon), Dr. Strange, Spidey, Capt Marvel and of course Black Panther. Kinda awesome!

For everyone that saw this thing over the weekend at an AMC or Cinemark, can we all agree that this commercial just made you angry with each passing second?

Long time lurker and first time poster. That commercial still angers me.

I saw it his morning at my viewing. I don't think I've ever been so infuriated by a commercial in my life. It just got worse and worse and worse and worse.

What did they say?

To be honest killing off Rhodes would be really transparent in "we need to kill someone off but nobody too important" and make it harder to rationalize Tony reconciling with Vision et. al.

Is it so wrong to watch these things with "superhero goggles"? I mean if I took them off, I'd want iron man to have had to give his suit to the government, the hulk should be in a cell till he could be cured, iron man and scarlet witch should be in jail for ultron, etc. I like superhero goggles, they make the films more enjoyable and I don't think there's anything wrong with watching the films like that.

For any other film I'd say no. The difference is this film intentionally asks you to take off the superhero goggles and consider both sides of a political debate. That's a catch-22, since the second you have to take them off Cap's stance on the Accords sound that rational anymore.

I'd argue that's the core of the movie. Captain America is old fashioned and believes in individuals in a very romantic way; Iron Man sees the world as it is and assumes the worst case scenario. The movie is about Captain America wearing the superhero goggles and refusing to take them off. But being in a superhero world, he's kind of right to.

Okay, so in one hand you have Avengers doing whatever they think is right. On the other, Avengers doing whatever UN thinks is right. Avengers and UN can both be wrong, and there are pro's and con's to both ways to doing things. The UN can reach democratic consensus, which should be close to what truly is right. But some situations require Avengers thinking for themselves. There should be a middle ground.

IMO an ideal solution would be that Avengers are free to act independently, but they should report their activities to the UN. If from those reports and their own sources the UN finds something seriously wrong, there would be fair trials for the avengers involved and punishment depending on the verdict. Both parties could ask for help from each other, but they wouldn't be required to give it. This way, if there is a situation where Avengers feel they must go against UN's wishes, they can still do it, but at the cost of facing the consequences.

Cool post on Civil War. Handing out "sports awards" to the main characters like MVP, Most Improved etc - https://makeittakeitmedia.com/2016/05/08/captain-america-civil-war-nba-awards/

6TH MAN OF THE YEAR: SPIDER-MAN

Newcomer Spider-Man doesn’t qualify for the Rookie of the Year award as we’ve seen the character in five movies already. However, MCU’s version of the webslinger wins 6th Man of the Year as he’s deployed off the #TeamIronMan bench for a couple of scenes to amazing effect.

In limited minutes, the youngest Peter Parker we’ve ever seen in a live-action movie definitely made his presence felt. Feats of strength (easily blocking Winter Soldier’s cybernetic arm punch), bravery (holding his own in battle vs. Captain America) and smarts (webbing up a plan to topple over Giant-Man) were all on display during the epic airport battle. All of course while delivering his signature quips.

Also, in a scene alongside Tony Stark, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker re-tells the origin tale of Spider-Man in a single monologue — instead of spending an entire movie on the well-known story. Spider-Man in Civil War is efficient, like any great 6th man should be.

Rhodey makes sense to drive the wedge deep. Killing Spiderman would have been even better. Then maybe they do Miles Morales in a solo. The more I think about the more I like that idea. Tony brings a kid in and WS kills him. That would break everybody. Fantastic.

Marvel is saving all the deaths for Infinity War. Thanos is the hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now.

Since they could undo everything with the Infinity Gauntlet, I hope the Russo go crazy with the opportunity to do whatever the hell they want.

This is exactly what I hope they don't do. I don't want a load of crazy stuff to happen, only for most of it to magically be undone at the end. It's cheap.

I'm not sure if anyone else feels this way, but if there are any Avengers that could be blamed for why the Sokovia accords came to existence in the first place, I would think that it would be Iron Man and Scarlet Witch; namely on the roles that they played in "Age of Ultron".

Iron Man is the guy responsible for creating Ultron and Scarlet Witch (along with her brother) assisted him in killing several innocent people (intentionally or not).

Plus, it was Scarlet Witch who gave Iron Man that freaky vision that pressured him into creating Ultron by means of using Loki's staff, which Wanda knew would lead to his own self-destruction.

Wanda was hella badass

Yup. Probably had the most bad ass moments out of any character

#1 Sucked dangerous gas out of building and channeled it into the atmosphere
#2 Bulletproof Hex/psionic shield
#3 Instantly controlled and directed a knife with her mind
#4 Took control of Vision and changed his density at will, rendered him powerless
#5 Buried Iron Man in a barrage of cars without significant exertion
#6 Effortlessly stopped Black Widow hitting Hawkeye and threw her some distance
#7 Effortlessly stopped Black Panther from clawing Bucky's throat and threw him an even larger distance
#8 Held up an entire falling airport control tower
