Suit looks awful,

Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, Mr Terrific? So this movie is just a vehicle using Superman, so Gunn can introduce and develop his quirky "We Are Not The Justice League" tongue-in-cheek-League.?
I'm guessing the bright more classic Superman refrance, is likely only going to be used here cynically, as self-parody to clown him, and make him look irrelevant and out of touch with the others.

This is really what DC/WB (and some fans) are hinging their hopes of the new DC Cinematic Universe on? :funny:

Mister Terrific has been chairman of the JSA and is the most intelligent person in the DC Universe. He has headlined his own book and his own team. He’s not a slouch.

Guy Gardner is a goofball, but he’s also a formidable Green Lantern.

And this is Superman. Freaking Superman.

Seriously people. This isn’t Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s flippin Superman!

I’m certainly not hinging my hopes of a cinematic universe on anything. I just want a great Superman movie.

If we ended up not getting a connected universe, and everyone who wants a connected universe had a feather in their pants, we’d all be tickled to death.

Casting is just 11/10 for the movie.

I'm more interested in the Daily Planet group then any of the other super heroes in the film. I always preferred it when Supes was the first superhero the world knew of, but if anyone can get the balance right its Gunn.

So your thing is mediocre trolling? Cool...I mean sad but...cool.

Love the emphasis they’re placing on the Daily Planet crew this time around…. Family/tight knight groups are a trademark of Gunn’s work at this point, and that’s probably gonna be at the emotional core of this movie’s story

I’m really excited

So Jimmy won't be shot in the head randomly?

So, no. Still a Superman film.

Says more about you and what you think about Superman and what the character stands for than about Superman himself in this film.

No. Like someone else said, first and foremost, we just want a good Superman movie. And if more good/great things follow from and after that? Even better.

So…

They unironically used the term “virtue-signaling“ twice in a negative context when referring to what the potential modern Enemy Mine remake will be like in the “Enemy Mine Remake” thread, so take that for what you will. :oldrazz::cwink:

I hear you but we all know that when the suit gets on film it will not look baggy. I anct saw pictures were it was not baggy at all. From the back it looks great, even the negative folks liked the back shot of the suit. All you can get from film photos from non sanctioned photographers is that the suit at least looks like Superman’s costume. David in my opinion is the best looking Superman to ever be casted.
That's all fair thinking. But you know how the CBM fan community acts. I, for one, have no worries how this suit will look in live action. Gunn knows what he's doing behind the camera.

In 10 years time, we are all gonna be here like 'remember when the entire Daily Planet staff were revealed one by one coming out of a spaceship?' and celebrate the joy of this.

Seriously. This was such a smart way of generating hype. I tip my hat to them.

If it was any other director taking on this type of cast (and it's big in numbers as far as characters are concerned) then I would worry a bit. But you can only go by the directors strengths and Gunn's strength is his ability to seamlessly write and create great dialogue with an assembled cast.

Someone's been brainwashed by focus groups. :o

This person has no intention of engaging with the discussion, or any discussion for that matter, so don’t expect a response. I replied to them in another thread a few days back, and still haven’t received a reply back.

Ah yes...using lame buzzwords because they have never had an independent thought of their own. They probably are annoyed that Star Trek is "Woke" as well ;)

Well, they did refer to the first two seasons of Picard as mediocre, so, going by the “virtue-signaling” comments, It’s easy to guess what they meant by that.

Granted, I’ve heard some not great things about those two seasons myself, but there is definitely a contingent of fans who lay the blame on that show’s quality, and pretty much most modern Star Trek, on being “too woke”, and not for the actual reasons.
