The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨SPOILERS🚨)

That's all fair thinking. But you know how the CBM fan community acts. I, for one, have no worries how this suit will look in live action. Gunn knows what he's doing behind the camera.
After what so called fans are doing to Star Wars, I don’t really care. Some of the loud small minority is nuts. I am enjoying the ride.

It's totally normal. Venture anywhere and you will see the great, the bad, and the fugly lol. But it's honestly the norm with CBM reactions. As much negativity I see, there's positivity and some fans that are on the fence are skewing giving it a chance. Superman already feels it's on the right path with exposure. There will be a LOT of eyes on this thing. If I was Gunn, that's probably where you would want things exactly to be. The stage is being set for motion and the trailers. That will determine a lot of things when the time comes where people will stand. It's hard to go by stills and set pics. It's just the beginning, but I feel all these set "leaks" are doing its job.
You nailed it with this post.

It's not necessarily the size of the traps. Bone structure can greatly affect how they appear even if they are large and well developed. Chris Hemsworth has large well-developed traps and a thick neck, but given his very long neck and narrow sloping shoulders, his traps actually just highlight the length of his neck. Which is why his costumers do everything possible to break up his neckline from the long hair and beard to the substantial collars and pauldrons on his Thor costumes.
You're right!

He looks so ****ing stupid. I love it immeasurably. It's a stretch but I'm hoping the blatant silliness means we're getting some fun, performative Clark Kent perona stuff - I find it a little boring when there isn't a certain element of performance going on in universe there.

It's the #1 thing I expected when we heard the news "James Gunn directing Superman", no way in hell he wasn't gonna take advantage of all the comedic potential with it.

I instantly fell in love with this look at first sight LMAO. I can't believe nobody ever did something like this before and it's as simple as a ridiculous amount of hair covering his features. Brilliant.

Yep, same here. I'm a touch worried he'll write Superman as a bit too much of a goober - not like Star Lord, but the "Big Galoot" quote was an eyebrow raiser for me - but I would be over the moon at Gunn doing something that still has a bit of Donner Clark to it. Especially because Corenswet's biggest asset is that he's very, very funny.

Clark is a Hobbit now?! 😆 Just like his supersuit, I'm mixed on the look. It's definitely not what we're used to, but it IS a helluva disguise and it's certainly different. I DO like how awkward he already looks and the body language totally sells it. Eager to see how it all comes together!

Potential logistical issue: how does he style his hair when changing from Superman back to Clark???

I find it so so so funny how all the fan edits for Corenswet were going for the sexy nerd look for Clark Kent and here Gunn went out of his way to make him look as unappealing as possible.

At first glance I was like "WTF🤔" and worked instantly. I really do feel that's one helluva simple; but clever way for Clark to blend in. Makes total sense.

Another Clark who takes the time to apply brylcreem before dashing off to the rescue

I said it yesterday: I hope they go all in with the Clark/Superman dichotomy. Superman's secret identity is such a fun, absurd premise. Why not have fun with it? Let Clark be a big clumsy nerd. That's the way to sell it IMO.
