Nah, Supes has chest hair. It's [canon].
Not always. Back in the Golden-to-Bronze Ages, it was pretty common to depict male superheroes (including Supes) sans chest hair. Perhaps this was because hairiness was deemed “unseemly”; or perhaps it was about replicating the real-life muscle man/body builder aesthetic. In any case, Superman’s hair growth (or lack thereof) was actually incorporated into his mythos. Because of yellow Sun shenanigans, Supes’ (head) hair and beard did not grow. And this conveniently explained why he wasn’t especially hirsute — and didn’t have to fuss with trimming or shaving. Of course, this changed in later versions. Which is when the contrived (and implausible) business of "heat vision and mirrors" became part of Supes’ personal grooming.

Yeah sorry, #Eyebrowgate lives. They did something to those brows. It may purely be a make-up technique, and I’ve always said that could be it, but it’s definitely something nonetheless. These are simply not the brows he had before being cast in this role.

I’m just extremely grateful they darken them when he’s Supes so he doesn’t look this weird. That’s the only thing that had me worried for a hot minute.

Whether it’s just some kind of shaping technique or plot-related, he looks perfect as Supes, which is all that matters imo.

Wasn't he filming these adverts around the same time as the original image we were debating?

I can totally accept his eyebrows being lightened for an advert for whatever reason.

My push back on #eyebrowgate is only for bizzaro denial purposes 😅

There's no Bizarro, only Genesis. :ninja:

They were lightened well before he shot this. There’s no reason to lighten them for an advert, and there’s no way a cosmetic choice for an advert would take precedence over that of a movie he’s currently filming. That said, if it makes you feel better, I’m currently on the “it’s probably just a make-up/shaping technique” train more than anything else. The recent pics from Twisters have helped me to notice that his natural eyebrow shape is a bit different from Superman’s in the set pics, so I do believe it may have been done to give him a bit more of a “straight off the comics page” look that’s less noticeable on film than waxing the brows would be.

…but I still believe there’s a clone in this movie. :oldrazz:

As long as its not a Superman clone... 🫣
