I agree in that I think Gunn's Superman needs to be its own thing. I also think taking the approach like The Batman is the right move. Set Superman up in his younger years but have him established and build out his universe. The possibilities are endless and Superman has so many characters that could be utilized.
Unfortunately, I think the reality is that WBD wants these characters to cross over at some point and I am just not sure how you continue to establish this batman universe as a separate thing especially as Matt Reeves idea is to expand it for many years to come.
Either way I am excited to see this new take on superman and hopefully they are focused on Superman's world for at least the first movie with Easter eggs only related to his character versus a wider DCU.
