I really like everything I’ve seen so far. Every person seems perfectly cast. I honestly feel very hopeful for this movie.

This not being an origin flick and all, I kinda hope Lois is in on his secret identity.

Also! Mikaela Hoover.

I keep waiting for the punchline in these positive posts of yours. You're being weird. Stop it. :o

I mean it's pretty clear this is gonna be Gunn's own take on Ultraman. Ultraman's not a clone. Gunn does his own thing with the more obscure characters.

I've seen a few people throw around Ulysses, which would be interesting but yeah, I'd imagine this is Gunn's take on Ultraman with Lex heavily involved as the mastermind, with maybe a few other inspired villains that would be familiar that would make up what could be the personality of the other antagonist. At first glance, the design reminded me of a take on Parasite until I saw the "U". The outline and similar materials of the suit in comparison to Superman makes the clone theory that much more probable. The dude is huge too, like Non size; around 6'6 or so.

Who's the tall guy in the black suit, mask and goggles behind Superman in handcuffs? He has a U on his chest.

If anyone would like to copy Clark's haircut, it is The Broccoli Cut. Some seem to be calling it The Zoomerman.

Clark Kent randomly sporting it is not suddenly going to make that look cool lol. It's only just starting to fall out of fashion anyway, which is probably another aspect of the rationale when it came to giving him that 'do.

Rumors are rampant that it is Gunn's rendition of Ultraman, which lines up with the earlier rumors surrounding the film of other antagonists.

You got all of that from a picture with no context?

To be clear, when I say 'I'm spiralling' that's me owning that my response feels a bit irrational and emotionally charged.

I have no intention of judging the movie based on one set pic. Just expressing the fear that arose in me 😅

Honest question but...why would Ultraman have a black suit? I admit I havent seen every version of him over the years but I don't remember that look ever. Is it a stand in replaced digitally later or is there some precedent? Not denying it is him just wondering...

There is a second possibility that might actually fit - Ulysess

The old guard Superman fans around here like @hopefuldreamer are a bit traumatized and understandably jump to the worst at times.

Accurate. And thank you! 😅

When you've gone from over the top blind expectation to 'omg that film just broke my heart', your poor little fan mind becomes a bit hyper vigilant of history repeating itself.

Amazing how we can get comments like these from 2 days of filming pics when we literally went 4 months of shooting with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. :funny:
It also seems like we haven’t got an outdoor shoot like this in a long time so people have forgotten what set pics used to be like. We’re used to secrecy being prioritised so that more movies are shooting on green screens than on real locations but I’m very happy that they’re filming outdoors and I’m really very excited to see this on the big screen.

The hair on Clark is not what I expected so I need a minute to get used to it :nrv: but everything else is looking great :wowe:. The suit especially looks incredible outdoors. Those colours are stunning :hrt:. I hope they look just as good on film too.

Also Rachel Brosnahan is looking ****ing flawless :atp:. I’m very excited to see her take on Lois.

That said despite how good everything is looking, I’m still a little… trepidatious about this film and that’s mainly because of Gunn. While I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of his, I do like Gunn, I’ve liked his work in the past but the vibe of his movies is just not what I imagine when I think of Superman. I think he’s a smart enough filmmaker to adapt his sensibilities to Superman but until I see a trailer or maybe even the whole film, some part of me will always be nervous.

So much stuff to catch up to.
I honestly didnt expect that we would get so much Pictures etc at all during the shooting.
They so far had done a fantastic job in keeping things under wraps.

But on one hand its good because what we see, already in these Photos there is a lot that hypes this movie up for me.
They all look good and you get a good vibe from the costumes etc.

Seeing the suit in all its glory, its wild to me that Gunn choose that Picture as Reveal Picture.
But i guess he expected people to film later, so he wanted to get this out of the way.
Still, not the best look at the suit when these already are so much better.

Love the style, the colors...its so great.
Loving that its not as Skin tight and doesnt have the fake abs.

Mr Terrific looks awesome too, as if taken directly from the comics.

Im so hyped for the movie thanks to these pictures.

Careful now. Especially with WBD in flux, remains to be seen just how many of these projects will see the light of day. Nothing wrong with being optimistic, but I'll share your hope when Warner Bros. actually sticks to a plan. Lest we forget announced films like Lobo....Nightwing...Joker and Harley...Blackhawk...Green Lantern...Plastic Man...I could go on all day!

At best, Superman, Creature Commandos, and Peacemaker have cameras rolling. The rest? I'm in a 'Wait and see' pattern with DC announcements.

Both Supergirl and Lanterns have a very high chance of actually getting filmed. I think everything else is up in the air. Depends on how Superman performs.
