I do think they should keep the black though. I think a good chunk of the reason people look at Battinson and Corenswet side by side thinking they look nice is that the black and grey just contrasts really really well with Superman's bright blue, red and yellow colors. It'd not have the same effect with the blue.
I dunno, I'd still like to see a blue live action Batman some day.

I’d rather he weren’t a factor in this, but it’s interesting how much the mask of the “Ultraman” suit looks like the one on the containment suit Doomsday was wearing when he escaped at the start of The Death of Superman.

I don’t they’re doing some kind of “Lex framing Superman” subplot (which sounds kinda dumb imo) because it wouldn’t really make sense, with what those pics are presenting

Ultraman is obviously working for the government/military, is a member of the Authority(?), and is pretty obviously public knowledge. His suit also takes design cues from Superman’s suit

The framing plot line only works if the clone is a secret, but it looks like the gov itself had a hand in its creation

Almost like Gunn stole his story from Superman & Lois.

If it's a clone, Lex probably created him AND can control him when he wants.

They look to be the same height also. That may mean nothing tho.

I think more likely what is happening in those pictures, is that:

a) Superman interfered in the Middle East conflict earlier in the movie (we know this is still in the script, because there were multiple casting calls for “middle eastern refugees” over the past month ), likely a government operation involving other supers

b) Superman is branded a war criminal by the US gov, and they send Stormwatch after him

c) Meanwhile, Lex is working for the military/gov (we know this because of the LuthorCorp military vehicles), and is commissioned to create their “own” version of Superman

D) Ultraman is created to essentially be a “replacement” for Superman

This entire movie is gonna be Superman rebelling against the status quo, and creating a new age of heroes

Personally, I would prefer it be a variant of superman. I'm kinda done on the clone stuff.

Lex likely created him in *collaboration* with the government, hence why he’s publicly working with the military, and they’ve intentionally designed his suit to mirror Superman’s

Him “framing” Superman would be completely redundant at that point

I am going to hold out hope that none of us are right and there is something else going on here. Won't be mad if it is any of our guesses (though I hate the idea of clones in general) but I think there is more to it than we are being lead to believe.

I still say the Titans' Tower becomes a Star Destroyer and wipes out The Authority!

Then the orchestral theme plays:

I'm partial to a navy.

Darling, everyone knows that Midnight Blue is the only way to go. :o

It is basically the classic comic colour scheme of black.with blue highlights brought to life. Looks black in low light but blue where it catches the light.

Which shade of Midnight Blue?

Something like the image Gunn used could work. It's hard to say which shade of blue they should use though mostly because it's one of those things they'd have to do a trillion tests with different lighting conditions to decipher. I'd still go for black 10 out of 10 times. I prefer the visual identity it sets for Batman aside from other heroes.
