Pretty much! Not that Gunn would play an "evil" Max anyways. Even if you barely knew anything about Max you would know Gunn is going to play him more fun.

Pascal's Max Lord was one of the few good things about WW84... I think Sean Gunn will deliver it, too.

I love Pascal...but that was a miss for me. He was the playing the wrong villain in the wrong movie. I wanted to like it so much...

I'm curious to see what sort of shoes the costume designer puts Clark in with his double breasted suit. Corenswet's grey, double-breasted suit with white shirt and dark tie seems to possibly be a George Reeves homage.

I'm guessing Clark will be getting some nice chunky American wingtips to go with it. Sometimes in the vein of the iconic vintage Florsheim Imperials:

Worn by guys like Dwight Eisenhower. Since Clark is wearing a purple tie, a classic but less common colour now like Oxblood would be cool and a subtle hint towards Superman's red boots:

That movie would’ve almost certainly been a mess… but I would like to visit the parallel timeline where it happened and give it a look.

I think the word timeline has some people overreacting to this from what I've seen. I highly doubt there are different timelines in this film. She even says "timeline of the story".

Yeah, I think she was merely hinting at the presence of another (perhaps more comic-accurate) HG costume, as the one we see her wearing in the set photos was specifically tailored to the events of the story.

Same here. I love Pascal in almost everything but his Max Lord didn’t work for me. It was less about the performance and more that they basically just made him a total fraud who just wanted to steal and become a really stupid macguffin. Max (IMO) has always been more interesting when he’s actually super rich and conniving but in a way that helps the good guys. He had a pretty interesting character arc back in the 80s and 90s where he went from a somewhat slimy businessman who used his superhuman power to get what he wants to a guy who ultimately did a lot of good through his work with the JL. Which is why it was so shocking years later when he blew Ted Kord’s head off. I’d rather them not go the villain route at all with Max and keep him as a morally flexible good guy.

While i can't comment much on the shoes, I have always headcanoned Clark wearing silly graphic socks for work.

Between Superman and shows like Peacemaker and the upcoming Creature Commandos, I feel like Gunn is making a concerted effort to establish a foundation that's fairly reminiscent of the comics. So, I fully expect to see Vandal show up at some point, presuming that Gunn, Safran, et al. are allowed to stay the course. Excluding him would be a huge missed opportunity.

The Flash was SHELVED for that delay period before its release date. That’s a totally different scenario, as it means no one was actively working it, and whenever someone did, it was to make changes, not continue working on VFX.

Every movie has a set production timeline, and that timeline is what it is budgeted for. Once it’s been through that, and the budget is spent, it’s done. Doesn’t matter how long it’s delayed for, no one’s spending more time/money on it unless they want to inflate the budget with reshoots and re-edits because it’s not testing well or something.

Gunn accounting for more VFX time in his initial production budget/schedule is a different thing entirely and is undeniably a very good practice, which usually results in a more polished product. His timeline here is how VFX movies typically used to work before the Marvel machine set a new (bad) standard.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a movie by Gunn and thought “man that looks bad”. Are they all perfect? No. But I’ll take that over meme-worthy poor CGI.

Flash is interesting because it was filmed so far in advance but doesn't look the greatest. So to me, its either a director issue or they really waited a while before committing to spending the money on visual effects so it ended up being rushed. I'm sure the tax write off was floated especially with Ezra Miller's issues coming up.
