I read Superman Up in the Sky a little while back. Thought it was a really fun read, it reminded me of a lot of Batman: Ego but for Superman. I also have Super girl: Woman of Tomorrow downloaded.

Also read Absolute Superman #1 last week. It's a reeeaaaally interesting take on Superman and krypton.
I really want to read absolute Superman. My comic shop was sold out of it which is a good sign

You could always read online somewhere, I guess. Then buy the issue later after your comic book shop restocks the book.

I keep thinking about the pre MOS days and how many topics of convo and speculation we had going, discussing all our hopes and desires for the movie, what we thought was important to include...

And how this time around, there's so much less of that because we seem to all be in the 'I'll just be happy if its a good movie and he doesn't snap any necks 🤞' headspace, not daring to vocalise hope for any anything specific...

Or is that just me? 😅

I think there is that but also a lot of us have been around since before Superman Returns and have probably matured (a little).

Gunn should have called the movie Superman: No Neck Snaps This Time.

Box office gold.

Nope, that's pretty much accurate. :funny:

But also, I somewhat agree with @Alien Anal as well - I've found that as I've gotten older, I wish less for the movie in my head to get made, and get more open to and excited about going on whatever ride the filmmakers wanna take me on...as long as they're not gonna s*** on my faves lol.

His role in Superman, perhaps? Kind of feel like Magnus has the most potential in this corner of the DCU.

Encouraging!

Okay yeah, I do agree with that. Though part of that was the lessons learned back that, that building too strong a picture in my head only leads to dissapointment.

I have a fair amount of trust in Gunn though. I do feel like I'm going in open to seeing what he cooks.

Jason Aaron's take on some of the lore is excellent, all of the Absolute line ups have been 100% worth the read.
I’m not typically a huge elseworlds guy, but first issues of Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman were both en fuego.

They absolutely were. And I'm in the same boat, I'm 50/50 on elseworlds stories, but these are good. And the fact that Snyder wants the Absolute universe to be around for the next 5 to 10 years means they don't have to rush and they can treat the characters with the respect they deserve.

Marvels new ultimate universe is really cool too.

I feel the same. I don't want him mopey and serious all the time, but, I don't want gunn to go overboard either and have him smiling like an idiot every time he turns around.
I definitely don't want him killing.

I can remember wishing and hoping for an epic city fight in MOS.
well, I got it and after the SV fight earlier, it kinda felt like "Meh".
So, I'm careful on what I wish for now.

So are all the "Absolutes" connected like the Ultimates were?

Take this for what it’s worth…

The Numbers.com has put out its BO predictions for 2025. Now, you have to subscribe to actually see details of these predictions. But there’s a teaser graphic (which I assume is legit) that includes a guestimate for several big titles, including Superman. Their top 5:

Jurassic World Rebirth - $440M
Avatar: Fire & Ash - $400M
Wicked Part 2 - $330M
Superman - $310M
Snow White - $280M

Jeez, that's a lot. I was expecting something close to 200 M, but maybe that was too conservative. I'm concerned this movie will struggle to make profit.

Lol, nevermind. It's talking about box office, not budgets. My bad.

They claim last year’s prediction came 2% to the actual. Are their predictions for 2024 available to see and compare?
