And I still like, the chest symbol, big red cape, that's what matters and it balance out the blue. Why Robin' suit can be modernized but Superman needs red panties and boots? Like I said, it doesn't matter, why we arguing? You will get red boots and red panties, you can bet on it.

Guess this is a contentious time to bring up my concept for a baseball-themed Superboy costume, complete with a small S shield on the breast pocket.

That picture of Durance and Welling really proves how miscast they were. No talent, No charisma, and No chemistry. Sad for the two of them as the worst casting and acting in the history of the characters.

Whilst Smallville was not the greatest Superman property ever put together, and I admit neither one of them would ever win an oscar, I am a little surprised at the lack of chemistry comment. One positive thing I've consistently seen written about Smallville over the years - from fans and critics - was the undeniable chemistry between Welling and Durance. It was much more apparent how he had little chemistry with Kreuk once Durance came along.

My problem with removing the trunks is most of the trunkless comic designs for Superman look like ****. Mostly because they try to "replace" the trunks with some awful design choice, like a red belt, or or the MOS suit piping around Cavill's mid-section, etc. If you are going to leave the trunks out, just leave them out and keep the gold belt (like most trunkless depictions of Batman's suit). If you feel the need to have something there to replace the trunks, maybe you shouldn't get rid of the trunks in the first place.

The argument from certain quarters is that the trunks, in particular, have “baggage.” (See what I did there? ) Whereas, other design embellishments like a belt or waist piping do not.

Durance and Welling are up there with Kidder and Reeve for the most downbad version of Lois and Clark the world has ever seen

See, and I never thought Reeve and Kidder had much chemistry at all. To me Cain/Hatcher had the best live-action Lois and Clark chemistry to date, followed by Hoechlin/Tulloch. And as much as I dislike Smallville in general, I'd still probably put Welling/Durance third. Despite Welling typically being a block of wood, she kind of brought him to life a bit.

I thought that I was the only one who thought Reeve and Kidder lacked chemistry.

And I always liked Durance‘s take on Lois, even if I wasn’t always liking the finished product. I thought that she did the Kidder take on Lois better than Kidder did (if that makes any sense.)

Cain/Hatcher, particularly in the first few seasons of L&C, is without a doubt the best live-action chemistry between the characters that we've seen to date. Welling/Durance's on screen chemistry would be a close second. I actually think the whole Daily Planet cast of L&C had the best chemistry & dynamic, that no live-action depiction since has come close to capturing.

I'm with @flickchick85 & @Babillygunn, I didn't think Reeve/Kidder had anything particularly special in terms of on-screen chemistry. I wouldn't go as far as to say they didn't have any, but their chemistry was better between Superman/Lois as opposed to Clark/Lois IMO.

Acting calibre is mostly irrelevant when it comes to chemistry, you either have it with someone or you don't. You could take two Oscar winners & stick them together & get nothing. However you could stick two frequent Razzie winners together & they can come across like best friends or husband & wife.

Whether you're a fan of Smallville or not, I don't see how you can say this. From the moment she was introduced in S4, they had flirty-banter which progressed into genuine feelings by S8, 9 & 10. I thought they were brilliant together.

Lois and Clark certainly felt like the best chemistry that we have seen. It was fun enough that Clark heating up a cup of coffee still made you feel like you were watching Superman just because of that tiny moment of power.

It's hard for some young folks to remember we didn't really have that many superhero movies or shows back in the 90s.

I grasped onto anything that had powers such as Phenomena, Alex Mac, blank man, meteor man and the few others until Blade came out but then we had to deal with leather suit X-Men.

Hoechlin and Tulloch have fantastic chemistry, though as an aside, I liked the brief moment between Tulloch and Brandon Routh on the Crisis crossover.



But beyond Lois and Clark since I haven't seen it, I don't think there's a Lois and Superman combination that I've disliked. I do agree that Kidder and Reeve had great chemistry as Superman and Lois, less so Clark and Lois, but the Donner Cut where Lois is a lot more proactive at trying to figure out Superman's identity, I feel there's a lot more chemistry between Lois and Clark.

I don’t care about the trunks. I don’t mind the KC logo, even if I’ve always thought it looked like a backwards 7 more than an S. But I need the logo to be red and yellow. It was black in KC because he was mourning the death of Lois and to reflect how bleak and dark the world had become in his absence. A young and hopeful Superman shouldn’t wear black, even if he did in the Fleischer cartoons.

The official suit reveal has always been my favorite part of following these CBM projects, starting with Batman Begins, then TDK, Superman Returns & even MOS.

We already have a basic idea of how the suit will look like, because it's highly unlikely that Gunn and co. will radically diverge from it: blue bodysuit, red cape and boots, S emblem.

Meanwhile Metropolis is a much bigger question mark, and I pray that it's not just gonna be New York/Chicago again.

The constant back and forth from Gotham to Metropolis in BvS is downright confusing because they make no effort to differentiate them, it's impossible to tell where a scene is set.

I mean it sounds like it’s gonna be Cleveland/Cincinnati lol. And I’d be ok with that if they beef up the skyline. Both seem to have lots of green space, which is one of my main wants for Metropolis.

i trust that Gunn will deliver on worldbuilding like he did with Xandar, Ego, Contraxia, Counter-Earth, Orgoscope, Knowhere, etc.

A fleshed-out Metropolis is something I think no Superman adaptation has ever done, and hopefully this will be the first to.
