I wasn't the biggest fan of the idea of going with the Kingdom Come emblem either, but this is more of a case of using it as inspiration and a jumping off point that actually using it. There is lot more rounding and curves in this shield, in particular in the borders, in actuality it is more of a hybrid of early Golden Age designs and the Kingdom Come shield.

I will admit that having more rounded curves does give the emblem a little S motif.

Still, I don't how to feel about this being the new S moving forward when pertaining to the DCU. I'm assuming that Kara will have the same emblem as well.

I didn't have a problem with Legacy but I like just Superman, a lot more!

I love the logo, it's bigger than I'd imagined, maybe bigger than I'd like but definitely have to see more to judge, love the colors and texture.

God I can't want to see Hawkgirl, Metamorpho and the rest. This could be THE CBM for costume adaptions.

A couple of comments over at Deadline.com claim that calling this movie just Superman disrespects the 1978 version.

Not only it's a stretch by those Snyder bros (im assuming), it was originally called Superman: The Movie.

I quite liked the name Superman Legacy, so I'm a bit sad to see it dropped. Also, years from now, with this title just being Superman, when people talk about these films, they'll have to specifically Superman 2025 to not get mixed up with Superman 1978- which, yeah, I know is also sometimes called Superman The Movie, but come on, people just call it Superman.

But also not gonna crap on what came before, either.

I actually liked the title as well .
It had me pretty intrigued , in the same way The Dark Knight Rises title did a decade ago , before I knew what the film would entail.

But, on the other hand , I could see how the title might imply that the film is a sequel or connected to the DCU films.

But, I'm fine with just Superman , as a title , though I did think Superman Legacy sounded pretty cool, as far as title's go.

But, courses for horses .

Everyone's gonna have their own opinion as far as I'm concerned .

While I prefer Cavills \S/ since it was so intricately designed.... this one doesn't look bad. Definitely it's own and stands out.

Will be interesting to see the full suit. Seems as if they are definitely taking a more "classic" approach.

Beyond being (apparently) protective of the ’78 film, the commenters didn’t mention any other religious affiliations.

Although “Superman the Movie” was used extensively in promotion materials (posters, etc.), the official title was Superman. Certainly, that’s the only one used in the movie’s opening credits.
