The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

I said this this to someone on Facebook, but you can tell who has and hasn't been inside of a modern newsroom- or working in one in my case. Newsrooms nowadays are pretty sterile and dull. It's not The Newsroom or even Supergirl with everyone running around or staring intently from the control room while reporters smoke while yelling at sources. Usually it's people just glued to their computers and only getting up for lunch or when there's free food available. :D It's one of the things I enjoyed about the Nolan Batman films and DCEU films- because those locations felt like actual places instead of solely going for something more fantastical. Heck, even Superman and Lois' Daily Planet looks no different from your average newsroom exterior.

It's like...that's just how newsrooms look nowadays! So the DCU looking a bit more fantastical is a nice change of pace, but what we got before felt more emblematic of what you'd expect places like that to actually look like, whereas here it's like looking into a comic. Both work.

I genuinely don’t even remember this, but considering how unremarkable both his Metropolis and his Gotham were, I’m not surprised.

Every first-in-the-series Superman movie has wanted to do a Daily Planet lobby scene, cool how this is not the exception.

So, are they just setting up the sets or is filming actually taking place right now over there?

They’ve been filming on the beach set this week (which is closed off, hence no pics. No one can get near it), these downtown streets get closed off starting today and going through the 25th. So I’d assume they’ll be shooting on these sets for the next several days now. Will be harder to keep them completely closed off like the beach because people actually live/work in these buildings.
