I'm

I think the fight in SV should have been the only/final fight. By the time of the metropolis fight, it had the "been there, done that" feel to it, or at least it did for me.
And it dragged on and on and...........
To add onto this, MoS feels like three movies worth of plot stuffed into one, with each act being one movie. The first ending when he comes home, the second when he fights and defeats Zod in Smallville, and the third in Metropolis. The movie literally has three climaxes throughout its runtime.

With every single one of his films, Zack Snyder literally has so many ideas he wants to use and that he can’t figure out how to write just one film’s worth of material for a movie and can’t restrain himself, so he just throws it all in. And going by his latest effort, it makes so much sense in retrospect. He’s a victim of his inability to not overindulge in his own excess. He’s not just a bad filmmaker, he’s a bad storyteller.

Looks like an action scene stunt :hmm:
Man, I really appreciate James Gunn just going for it and going all out with all of the practical stunts and on set filming. Really seems like this is a big passion project for him.

Definitely looks like Supes is being trapped in the ground with the bricks. Doesn't look like a crash.

I mean, the realistic interpretation is that a real life Superman would be Homelander. That's not up for debate. If anything, Invincible, The Boys, Dark Knight Returns, and Kill Bill are the only works to truly understand how a real life Superman would behave.

The issue with Snyder's Superman is that it's poorly written.

Lol. But seriously, I obviously totally disagree with you. But the fact that you also posted that you love Homelander as a character probably means that you and I have very differing sensibilities when it comes to comics. I’d happily give you some suggestions for great Superman comics that I would think might change your mind about who the character is, but I’m not sure that they’d be your cup of tea, given some of your comments.

Different strokes for different folks and all. But in short reply, I’d say that Superman is not Homelander. Superman is not “super” because he is physically stronger, faster, and has powers and abilities. He’s primarily “super” because he’s more altruistic and humble than us. The reason why he’s the pinnacle of humanity is because of his goodness, not his superpowers.

Appareantly the scene shot today is the opening scene, from the person that shot one of the photos.
I kind of hated that scene from Spider-Man 2. Over the top and cringe. It came out laughable. Holding Spider-Man like he was Jesus. Too emotional. For Superman, I might be able to let that pass.

Happy One Year From Release Day, everybody! Y'all make the anticipation almost bearable, so thank you!! :hrt:

There is nothing wrong with loving an evil character. Walter White, one of the best characters in recent years, absolutely horrible person. And if anything, Kripke has likely made Homelander a bit more nuanced than the **** Ennis did in the comics.
