There is nothing wrong with loving an evil character. Walter White, one of the best characters in recent years, absolutely horrible person. And if anything, Kripke has likely made Homelander a bit more nuanced than the **** Ennis did in the comics.
Ric Flair is my hero. I totally understand loving a “bad guy.”

I wasn’t trying to say anyone was wrong for liking Homelander, and if I did, that’s my bad. I just cringe at the fact that people equate Homelander with Superman. It’s like someone equating a Weird Al parody to the real thing.

Same here. But I’m from Louisville, so being a democrat is more acceptable here, I guess.
I live around an hour away from you in Georgetown just outside of Lexington.

This is what I'm thinking is going on after seeing all the images.
These current images ( probably ) take place after superman is arrested by the guy in the black suit and the military. Lex is behind it all.
I don't know if the man in black is a creation of Lex, bizarro? Or an alternative Superman ( ultraman?) Etc..or someone from another planet.

Anywho, the Man in black dons a supersuit like superman's, and does some nasty stuff, all while pretending to be superman.

Superman gets arrested, voluntary gives up, but the man in black roughs him up.
superman is now out of the way, in a supermax prison, and probably kept weak by redsun light or kryptonite, all thanks to Lex.

The man in black decides to bring world peace his own way. He revolts against Lex, and resorts to killing any and all that stand in the way of his goal. He roughs lex up.

The other heroes most likely try to stop him but stand no chance. Several cities are damaged or destroyed.
So they free superman after learning the man in black framed him.

Lex probably even helps, an Enemy of my enemy is my friend type of situation.

What we're seeing is a super fight between superman and the man in black. Images in the baseball stadium of someone being drug along the ground is part of it.

Metropolis ( mostly ) evacuates. We seen images of people on the bridge with suitcase, shopping carts full of belongings, etc. All fleeing.

The hole superman is in is a crater his body mostly likely made after being super punched down to the ground.
Again, I'm just guessing. I may be way off.
We shall see.

The thing is, when you watch the show, it's clear that Homelander isn't really a case of "ReAl LiFe SuPErMan".

Similar to "Red Son", it examines what would happen if the Superman archetype had a different kind of nurturing. The show strongly points out that Homelander's personality is in many ways the result of his upbringing. It's not simply a case of "power corrupts".

Personally I'm hoping he's the one behind the assumed 'ultraman' suit mask.

And it's not bizzaro.

And there never were dyed eyebrows, just bright light...

He's 6'2"... could be!

Controversial lol. Literally the only people I've seen decry the shield are those hardcore fans who, for some reason I'll never be able to fathom, can't divorce the shield from Kingdom Come in their minds.

I think superman is one of those characters with an instantly recognizable logo no matter how varied it is. And he has had so many iterations of it, no matter what they pull the inspiration from you know it's superman. I think there are very few superman logos that are tied to a specific version of superman. Batman is pretty much the same way, even though most of his logos tend to be their own thing and not a specific to the "T" version from the comics. I think people are just weird and gatekeepy about the logo.

Does anyone know when it finishes filming? I recall it being at the end of July. If so, that's when we go through the quiet period where we get very little news. On a positive note, after that quiet period is when we finally get a teaser and/or trailer. Plus, Supergirl should be filming soon as well so there will be things to discuss.

As far as we know, the crew will be in Cleveland until this coming Tuesday, the 16th. I suspect a couple of those last days will just be cleanup. They’re supposedly only shooting in Cincinnati for 2 days - the 17th & 18th. And that might be it, idk. But their Ohio tax credit application said the last possible day of production was August 23rd, so ya never know. But I think the 18th might be the end, at least for the on-location stuff.
