I hope people are not expecting Superman to make a billion, because it won't, but it doesn't have to.
it can make 600 to 700 million, have really good audience and critic scores, and it will be considered a success and ensure more films are made.
I think the ceiling, even if it's great, is probably 800 million.
The flipside on that is, if it only makes 450 mill(ish) has awful audience and critic scores, then the DCU is pretty much doa.
Right or wrong, The DCU because of the snyderverse, is gonna have to earn the people's trust back. It sucks, but that's just the way it is.
Agreed.
I think Superman has a ceiling , and hopefully, WB can accept that .
But the film has got to be embraced by audiences and have some good critic scores .
They can't have another mixed to negative response from audiences and critics, yet again .
That said , I'm actually not too concerned about Superman , and I have a feeling things will turn out alright for it.
It's been decades since a Superman film has been praised across the board with audiences and critics, but , I have a feeling the film will go over well.
Who knows what the future holds, but at this moment, I think Superman will get a good reception.
That's one of the reasons I really don't comment on alot of the developments with this project on these boards.
As a Marvel and Spiderman fan, things look much more creatively shaky and wobbly with The MCU over the next several years.
So , as a DC and Marvel , I'm more concerned about Marvel's creative output and reception than I am Gunn's DC Gods And Monsters slate.
But that's just me as a fan of both. Other fans will differ.
