I wouldn't be concerned Superman 2 isn't up next for James. We have to see what this first one does, and there are other projects that could easily go into production before a sequel is greenlit. And who's to say Supernan isn't one of those.

I’m not sure why this would be concerning. Plenty of time until a sequel would come out. It might be something that falls into Chapter 2 of their story. I’m in no way surprised that Gunn isn’t signing himself up for a sequel that’s at least 3-4 years out from a movie that hasn’t released yet.

He’s helming Superman because it’s a pilot episode and he’s basically a showrunner. It shouldn’t be particularly shocking if he doesn’t make the sequels. Comment is a nothing burger though.

I don't see why Gunn wouldn't direct the sequels. He clearly loves the character, and if the movie is a success, a lot of that will be attributed to him. Not to mention, Peter Safran is around to help lighten the load of running DC Studios.

I wouldn't be surprised though if he directs a Justice League film down the line if the DCU gets to that point.
