Spider-Man 3 marketing sort of also threw into question whether Spider-Man/Parker was going to survive or not and the finality of it was a central part of the marketing and the film to a degree.

Aye, but:X-Men: The Last Stand.

1) It has spawned two prequels in the same universe;
2) Different director so not tonally consistent with X1 and 2;
3) it was a big steaming pile of doggy-doo.

It was the end of that Spider-Man. In a very meta sense.![]()

Well, they had FC tread the line of being able to fit in that universe but also treading its own ground a bit. I believe the intent is to do a new series of movies grounded in FC, but not related to the original ones.
I have the urge to go watch spider man 3 on blu ray now.
Given thatYou would be correct in this assumption...but I wonder if there will be a link of any kind to the separate "Wolverine" films.
